Trip to PikanVale

It'd been a few days since they'd left Carious Swamp behind but Sven was already missing the relaxing breezes and the easy going lifestyle he had experience in the tree top village, the roads were rocky and rough and with the sloped mountainous regions of PikanVale didn't allow for very comfortable spots to make camp. As Sven stopped to take a swig of water from one of their skins he realized he hadn't checked either of their character sheets for a while. Focusing on the part of his perception that governed the pop up he willed the sheet to open up.

Name: Sven Gate
Title: Gate Keeper
Main Class: None
Sub Class: None
Proficiency: Alchemist
Guild: None
Level: 20
Experience: 2470 / 2650

'Still classless.' Sven sighed to himself, actually that was the reason why the pair were on this journey to begin with, if joining a guild can give him access to a class like Ignis seemed to be suggesting then all the more reason to make use of their awarded enrollment tickets. Looking at Ignis her sheet popped up too.

Name: Ignis Fliora
Title: None
Main Class: Fire Enchanter
Sub Class: None
Proficiency: Alchemist
Guild: PennyCut Academy
Level: 18
Experience: 2167/ 2300

Sven mulled over her guild. "Oh that's right, you were already a part of a guild before weren't you Ignis?" She nodded with a smile, Sven felt a pang of guilt as he realized soon he would be taking her away from her registered guild.

"Don't you miss PennyCut Academy?" She looked down the mountain to the various trees blowing in the wind.

"I had good times and bad, but most of my friends are already-" She let the notion stick in the air for a bit before brushing past. "None of that matters to me any more, you're the one who saved my life, you're all that matters to me now." Ignis continued to march, Sven was still surprised that she had dropped her whole life to follow him, sure he had saved her life but did she really have nothing left to stick around for?

"Do you have family? Siblings?" She seemed to break cycle in her walking for just a moment, but Sven spotted it - even if she was quick to recover.

"No, nothing like that. What about you master? You never did tell me or Elise which region you came from." She was quick to change the subject, however Sven wasn't about to let a question go unanswered in return.

"Actually I wasn't born in this world, I have no idea how I managed to get here." Sven thought for a moment about whether he should tell her that this entire world is just a game universe for him in his past life, or is it past self? It had long since struck Sven that he might be making all of this up in some kind of fever dream while he lay comatose on a hospital bed somewhere, it wasn't outside of the realms of possibility after all. Ignis turned to look at him funny.

"Not from this world? Are you saying you're an alien?" Sven chuckled.

"Maybe, back in my world someone with your anatomy." Sven motioned to her short stature and pointed ears. "Would definitely be considered alien-like. Maybe like a cross human, cross alien hybrid." Ignis puffed out her cheeks at being likened to some cross breed. 'Not to mention, didn't she say she was around 200 years old?' Sven was sure there would be more internal differences between himself and Ignis that scientists back on Earth could discover.

"What is your world like if high elves don't exist there?" Ignis asked.

"Boring, much more boring than this world anyway. There's only humans who exist in my old world, if there was any other types of races that existed back then they've long since been dead." Ignis looked shocked at this, she just couldn't imagine a world without elves, orcs and beastmen.

"No monsters either?" Sven shook his head. Well, no monsters like she would understand them to be, but if she knew about historical figures like Adolf Hitler then...

"It sounds safe." Ignis said quietly. Sven would have liked that to have been the truth of it, however despite the lawlessness of AxioM and all its other faults, between humanoids it seemed mostly peaceful - much more peaceful than a world full of guns, tanks and atomic bombs at any rate. There was that war going on, or so the vendor in Botany Fields had claimed, however he hadn't seen nor heard anything to do with it what-so-ever on his travels thus far.

Sven was about to reply when his ears picked up on the sound of battle, Ignis had heard it too - looking to one another they made a silent agreement to go and check it out. Picking up the pace, Sven and Ignis rounded a corner to find...
