Tom is a 5ft9 Cat Beastkind with red hair, ears, and tail. He has a fit body and exudes grace as he moves. His most distinguishing trait would be his stunning blue eyes. He likes to dress casually with a penchant for outdoor travel clothing. Usually, he adopts a relaxed attitude.

Biography:

Tom grew up in the little town of West Glade in the larger region of Riledo. His parents moved there in the wake of Mizuki the Elementalist and the improved relations with the Beastkind Nation. Being a Beastkind got him to be ribbed growing up but nothing bad. When growing up, he was often found outdoors in the hilly surroundings of his birth town and to this day he still has a penchant for outdoor travel clothing. He quickly adopted a relaxed attitude, sometimes even to the exasperation of his parents, when he was wandering off to one of the small lakes dotted across the hills. He was also fond of building a campfire. But above all, he has an inquisitive mind … always wondering …what would happen if...

Despite the occasional ribbing, he actually got along well with the other people in his town. Unlike some stories he heard about other Beastkind or half-Beastkind. So him not going from West Glade to Riledo, the big city, to get his awaking like the other would-be adventurers was out of the question.

When he arrived at Riledo he met two other Beastkind and because it clicked between them they decided to stick together for the awaking ceremony. As a matter of fact, they still do to this day. The fox girl introduced herself as Jenny and the rat girl as Mariko.

As a result of the awakening, Tom is now a C rank Mage and has Water and Fire as elemental affinities. When all 3 of them had their awakening, they decided to leave the entrance and the swarm of recruiters behind to discuss their results. But just before they left the grounds of the awakening site behind, they were intercepted by a Mouse Beastkind who seemed to come out of nowhere. She introduced herself as the head of the Kedamono’s Brigade and was recruiting. She talked with them for some time and presented her guild as one where they would already have a home, if they wanted.

While discussing this latest event they eventually ended up at the doorstep of a pub called “Inn the belly of the Beast”. The pub seemed to be patronized by Beastkind as well as humans. There they met a member of the Gryphon Knights who, over a drink, let them know that in his opinion the Kedamono’s Brigade was probably the best choice for a group of novice Beastkind adventurers like them. Their guild hall was also just down the road.

After signing up, Tom got his own personalized red dagger and thus officially became a guild member of the Kedamono’s Brigade.

In time Tom proved to be quite the inventive mage. But it wasn’t until Mimizu’s awaking and her first solo adventures with some Gryphon Knights that Tom developed the Bolt spell. It’s now quickly becoming a signature spell among the guild magic users.

Skills:
Skill 1: Presence of mind – Reduces Tom’s casting time for a specific period
Skill 2: Cat’s grace – As the saying goes a cat always lands on her feet. Allows someone to stay upright even in difficult situations with cat-like grace.

Magic 1: Water
Water orb – Caster gathers water from his surroundings in a sphere-like form that grows as more mana is put into the spell. However, as the orb becomes bigger it becomes increasingly difficult to keep it under control. (Can be thrown)
Water bolt – Caster gathers Water in a ball which can be thrown. This spell is a fixed-size spell with a minimal manna need and thus little casting time. (Kedamono brigade exclusive spell)
Condense – Caster makes the water vapor of the surrounding air condense into his hand. This water can then be manipulated like any other water source.
Water glyph – Caster places a glyph which, when interrupted, causes water to spray from it like a geyser

Magic 2: Fire
Fire orb – Caster gathers fire in a sphere-like form that grows as more mana is put into the spell. However, as the orb becomes bigger it becomes increasingly difficult to keep it under control. (Can be thrown)
Fire bolt – Caster gathers fire in a ball that can be thrown. This spell is a fixed-size spell with a minimal mana need and thus little casting time. (Kedamono brigade exclusive spell)
Fire cone – A cone of fire appears from the caster’s palm
Fire glyph – Caster places a glyph which, when interrupted, causes a flame to erupt burning everything it touches

Equipment:
Quarterstaff (main weapon and focal point), Red Tanto knife (functional but mostly ornamental, personalized)
