To the Great Swamp (West)

Knowing the longer you stay at Robert's means the more time your comrades could be put in danger you decide to take action. “What is this Great Swamp Robert?” You question, leaning in to show your interest.

“It's an ancient place, it once was a rich and prosperous farmland before it was affected by a curse some say.” He rubs his chin trying to think of more details, “I know many people with disease go there hoping to be cured.”

“But wait Robert, you said it's cursed and used to be farmland but not anymore, why do people go there?” You interrupt giving a confused look.

“Powerful witches are said to reside there with a multitude of natural resources that can heal anything. There was also a Saint whom was part of a team of knights that came to this realm about a hundred years ago, she entered the swamp to try and help the sick. Unfortunately most who go are not healed so it becomes a hub of disease.”

Sounds like a dreadful place you think to yourself. However, these powerful witches could be holding your friends or have the means to find them. The story of the Saint seems familiar. Your order had sent a Saint, two female knights, and a high ranking commander into the realm to stop a portal before. They succeeded but were never seen again, but that was a hundred years ago the Saint couldn't be alive now?

“Robert I shall travel to the swamp. Thank you for the hospitality, if you could hand me my equipment back I'll be on my way.” Robert points to the closet behind you and goes to the kitchen to gather supplies. Putting the armour on you equip the sword and shield and leave the helmet. Robert comes back in the room with a backpack.

“It’s just some basic supplies to help you on your journey. Goodbye Gwen I wish I may be able to see you again.” Shaking his hand you are glad to have met Robert, even though he is slightly demonic he has been nothing but helpful. With that final goodbye you leave his house waving as you exit Robert's line of sight.

After a few hours the path you are following begins to slightly submerge in horrible dirty water. Everywhere directly around the path is below this murky water. The sky is grey and the air is dense with a slightly noxious gas. In the distance you see trees and in another direction reeds. This terrain will be difficult to fight or run in, hopefully confrontations with creatures will be in the minimum. A witch, you remember from your teachings, will try to use diversion and trickery to beat a knight instead of combat.
