Time For The Second Floor

I open the door to the Ruins and we enter. Myla and Hino look around in awe.

"So this is what Ruins look like." Myla says and I chuckle causing her to turn and glare at me.

"Sorry, I just didn't think you'd be so, well happy to see this."

"In her defense, Ruins are still a mystery to us. They're rare and challenging. In fact, this is the first Ruins that have appeared in this state in three years. No one knows how or why Ruins appear but they always contain great artifacts. So to us Lyna being able to enter and explore any Ruins is something many dream of." Hino explains and I nod.

"I didn't realize they were that rare." I say and walk up to the door. We enter the next chamber and find two Stone Golems again.

"Ugh! Why do they keep coming back!" Luna growls out and charges one. Myla and Hino take the other. I just watch, knowing Luna would get mad if I try to help and thinking that Hino and Myla want to get a feel for Ruins monsters. They quickly slay them and I realize I forgot to add them to the party, so I didn't get any Exp. I sigh and send them the invites while I store the Crystal Hearts away. They accept and their pictures appear with their MP and HP bars.

"I see what you meant earlier when you said they're weak." Hino says and Myla chuckles. "By the way Luna, monster in the Ruins are made of mana, so they respawn over time. But they will stop dropping Crystal Hearts after a while so they can't be farmed. Besides, the floor monsters hearts can only be used for weak stuff. It's the bosses they want, the others they mostly sell" Hino explains quickly.

"Yeah, they are pretty weak. But the next floor should be tougher." Myla says.

"Well, let's go then!" I say and we enter the boss chamber. We go to the staircase and climb down. The floor starts to change and cracks appear in the stone. As we get to the bottom I see another red door. "What's this?"

"This is what we call a checkpoint. Every new floor you'll find one. If you open it you'll unlock it and will appear here the next time you enter." Myla answers and I sigh.

"Wish I knew that before. Oh well." I say and shrug. I turn to the door to our right after I open the red one. It's about twice my height and made of stone. I push it open and what I see on the other side shocks me. I see the cracked stone continues and lots of grass is starting to grow in them. Then ahead of us I see three Minotaurs, all holding wooden clubs. Before I can do anything Luna starts shouting and runs ahead.

"****!" She shout running. We quickly follow her and I take out my claws, horns and boots. I see Hino and Myla take the Minotaur in the center and Luna takes the one on the left. I decide to take the once on the right and Observe it.

Minotaur Lvl 20, Class: Crusher, Title: Beast, RP: -250, Hearts: 0, Weak: Earth

HP: 2000/2000 MP: 100/100

I charge it and duck under its club. I cut along its leg and it howls in pain.

It swings its club again and I dodge it. I run at it and it swings again. I jump over it this time and stab my blade into its head.

I turn to look at the others. I see Myla and Hino are handling their Minotaur but Luna is struggling. She's been beaten back and is missing half her health. I quickly run to her and stab the Minotaur in the back.

The Minotaur turns toward me and I duck under its club. I jump back and see Luna attack it on its side.

The Minotaur backs up Luna turns to me.

"Stay out of this! I have this." She says and I slap her, while holding back a bit.

"Stay here!" I order her and cast Dark Chains on her legs. I turn back to the Minotaur and charge it. I jump above its club again and cut off its head.

I see the Myla and Hino finished of their Minotaur at the same time. I go back to Luna and release the chains. She raises her hand to try to attack me and I grab her by her wrist. I take the other and she opens her mouth to say something.

"Don't." I say sternly and she closes it. "Do you want to tell me why you decided to charge in like that?"

"Because I wanted to fight!" She says angrily and I sigh.

"Luna!" I shout at her and see her ears twitch. "This isn't a game. You could've died. Now I'll ask again. Why did you rush in?"

"I wanted to fight them. I wanted to prove to you I was strong." She says, with her normally perky ears now down on her head.

"Luna, I know how strong you are. I wouldn't take you here if you weren't. So no more rushing in okay." I say and she nods. "Sorry, you just scared me there." I say and she kisses me.

"I'm sorry too. I promise, I won't rush in anymore."

"Good." I pet her and hear someone cough behind me. I pull away from Luna and collect the Crystal Hearts while Hino and Myla scold Luna as well.

"So we have three directions." Myla says aloud while looking around. There are three different doorways filled with the same inky darkness as before.

"We should go along the sides!" Luna says proudly and the others nod in agreement. We decide to go left and I reach out. The darkness fades away and two more Minotaurs stand in the way. We split up with Hino and Myla taking one and Luna and I taking the other. We quickly finish them and I get another 2000 Exp and 1193$. We have two more doors and enter the one continuing straight. We go through and find four Minotaurs. Myla suggests we take one each but I decide on a different plan. I see three of them are standing together and cast Ancient Beast Slash, hitting all three.

The three Minotaurs get knocked down and I tell Myla and Hino to take the one I couldn't hit. Luna and I charge the three I injured. I quickly swing my blade on two of them and Luna gets the third.

Myla and Hino finished theirs at the same time we did. I collect the hearts and feel something off about the wall again.
