They head back home

The light temporarily blinded Dick and Nora's eyes as the elevator took them back to the surface. Once the Goodwins could see again they saw the state of the world around them. Everything was in ruins. Broken buildings, wrecked vehicles, random skeletons on the ground. It was a nightmare.

"Oh god..." Nora said horrified. Dick wasn't dealing with this any better. It was bad enough going through their vault to see everyone was dead and infested with giant roaches that tried to kill them, but they had assumed that that was the cause of the people that had kidnapped Shaun. Killing everyone and then locking up when they left so people forgot about Vault 111. But when they got out and saw the world was in a similar state... they didn't know what to do.

Eventually, they decided to head down to Sanctuary Hills to see what was left of their old home. It was the best next step that they could think of. It wasn't a pleasant experience to see their home neighborhood in ruins. But when they went to their house, they were greeted by a familiar face.

"As I live and breathe!" Codsworth exclaimed as he saw Dick and Nora walk towards. "Ah... it's... it's really you!"

"Codsworth?!" Dick and Nora exclaimed in surprise.

"It is indeed! I can't believe it! You're both here! Mum and Sir! Oh, I thought that I'd never see you two and Shaun again! ...Where is Shaun..." Dick and Nora told Codsworth what happened, again sailing over Nora getting ****. Needless to say, the robot was shocked, and he nearly delved into hysterics over the fact that Shaun was taken by strangers. In his babble, Codsworth revealed that the Goodwins had been frozen for over 210 years. Dick and Nora didn't know what to think, how could they be stuck in that Vault for over two centuries? It didn't seem real but they couldn't deny it helped explain the state of the world around them. They just weren't sure what to do next.
