They fail to completely resist

Chapter 10 by bryce193 bryce193

They could not resist. A strange, heavy calm settled over them both as Bryce's command pulled at their minds. Yuzi's hands fell from the steering wheel. Kimiko's eyes glazed over. Mother and daughter opened their doors and stepped out of the Explorer. Their movements were slow, obedient—like sleepwalkers guided by an unseen hand. Bryce turned and walked toward the multi-storey car park, and they followed him without a word. He led them up a concrete stairwell, past rows of silent cars, until they reached the top floor. It was empty, open to the grey sky, the wind carrying the distant sounds of the city. Bryce stopped in the center of the rooftop and turned to face them. Yuzi and Kimiko stood side by side, their expressions blank, waiting. Bryce smiled, his fangs visible now in the dim light. "Good," he said softly. "Very good...girls, now kimiko..why do you interduce me to her"

Kimiko's lips parted, and her voice came out flat, emotionless—like a doll speaking. "This is my mother, Yuzi. She's a police officer." Yuzi stood rigid beside her, her onyx eyes still glazed, but a faint tremor ran through her jaw. Somewhere deep inside, she was fighting. Bryce stepped closer, his polished shoes clicking on the concrete. He circled them slowly, his gaze lingering on Yuzi's holster, then moving to her face. "A police officer," he repeated, savoring the words. "How delightful. I've always hear that those who enforce the law have the strongest wills. Il...will be fun ckaiming you two as mine" He stopped in front of Yuzi and tilted her chin up with one cold finger. Yuzi's breath hitched, but she did not pull away. "You will remember nothing of tonight," Bryce whispered, his voice carrying a hypnotic weight. "You will return home, and you will tell your daughter that the school is safe. That you investigated and found nothing. That she is being foolish." Yuzi's lips moved soundlessly, then she nodded. "Yes," she murmured. Bryce smiled and turned to Kimiko. "And you, my dear. You will come to school on Monday as if nothing happened. You will sit in class. You will be a perfect student." Kimiko's eyes were glassy, but a single tear slipped down her cheek. "Yes," she said. Bryce stepped back, admiring his work. "Now, go home. Both of you. And remember—you never saw me here tonight...., but youll come when i call upon you later on." Yuzi and Kimiko turned in unison and walked back toward the stairwell. Their steps were slow, synchronized. As they descended, the fog in their minds began to settle into something worse—a false sense of peace. The car park was silent again. Bryce stood alone on the rooftop, watching the city lights flicker on as dusk fell. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "The mother is compromised," he said into the receiver. "We'll have full access to the police department's files by Monday...ill turn her later when you give the go ahead." A voice crackled on the other end. "Good. The coven is ready. Begin the recruitment." Bryce smiled, his fangs glinting. "Already done."
