The trio tries to defend themselves in a coordinated manner.

A canyon...

A narrow path...

And eight dangerous flying insect monsters, who are furious and ready to kill each of the trio of rabbits-girls...

Every split second in the current situation is critical for survival.

Thanks to her hunting reflexes, Luna quickly rolls along the ground at the very edge of the cliff.

A commanding cry from Luna, addressed to her companions: "Defend yourself! Flight is ****!"

In a prone position, she fires her semi automatic sniper rifle, piercing several wings of one of the cazadores with a bullet.

This insectoid-predator falls to the ground and crawls towards Luna, viciously moving its sharp and spiky mandibles.

One enemy has become less mobile.

But seven other flying disgusting insectoid monsters catch up with the rabbit-girls and launch frantic attacks, trying to hit their bodies with sharp stingers, from which some nasty and viscous liquid of a grayish-greenish hue drips.

Sage barely suppresses the urge to flee. The sound of Luna's voice, in which one can feel the steely determination to fight to the limit of one's capabilities, makes Sage try to defend herself on the spot.

Sage, screaming in fear and leaning her back against the stone "wall" of the canyon, continues to fire her weapon chaotically. Unfortunately, a couple of unaimed shots from twin semiautomatic pistols do not reach their targets at all. The enemies are too fast and the bullets fly past, not touching the disgusting insectoid bodies at all.

Two cazadores quickly approach Sage and begin to attack her body on the fly with sharp stingers.

A powerful blow right in the center of the chest...

A blow from a poisoned sharp stinger, which could very well be fatal.

The bulletproof vest that Sage is wearing is the only reason she was able to withstand this blow. One of the kevlar plates of the bulletproof vest received a small dent, but withstood the blow.

The attack of the second cazador was more successful: the sharp stinger tore the right sleeve of the jacket and caused a long cut wound to the flesh.

A painful wound on the right arm.

Blood flows from this wound.

And one more thing: Sage feels a burning pain due to the penetration of the poison. She almost loses consciousness due to pain shock and her movements slow down. Her vision is slightly blurred.

Aurora is close to panic.

She tries to retreat further from the edge of the path, but three cazadores fly around her and do not give her a chance to avoid damage.

A rapid attack by three aggressive flying insectoid predators at once.

Thanks to the bulletproof vest, two hits do not injure flesh.

However, the third attack pierces the left forearm of Aurora.

A puncture wound.

Blood.

A burning pain from the poison.

The vision before her eyes becomes blurry.

Aurora stumbles as she runs and falls to the ground, painfully bruising her right elbow.

Her right hand manages to snatch a boot knife.

An instinctive movement towards the enemies.

The tip of the boot knife plunges into one of the cazadores' compound eyes.

This insect buzzes deafeningly and begins to fly chaotically, sometimes raising its flight altitude, sometimes lowering it.

At this point, Luna, seeing the critical situation, takes an extremely risky action.

Feverish thoughts in her head: "These shitty flying insects will simply kill each of us one by one... They are too fast... Our weapon... The most powerful weapon... We must use our advantage at all costs!"

She jumps to her feet and runs towards Aurora, ignoring the attacks of one of the flying cazadores.

A stinger strikes her back.

Bulletproof vest withstood.

The second enemy (a predatory insect crawling on the ground with damaged wings) does not have time to attack her.

While running, Luna quickly reloads her weapon and shoots at the flying monsters in such a way as to hit as many enemies as possible.

A bullet from a semi automatic sniper rifle does not inflict critical wounds on enemies, but hits the bodies of three cazadores (one was trying to attack Sage; the other two were trying to attack Aurora).

And this causes the three insect predators to redirect their attention to a more troubling target.

Luna runs forward along the path, past the lying Aurora, and shouts, "I'll draw those flying scums to me! Need blast wave! Be ready! Shoot off at the right moment!"

The sight of a figure running forward along the path causes most of the cazadores to become distracted.

They buzz furiously and begin to rapidly pursue the target, which (as they see it) has not only enraged them with wounds, but is also trying to escape from them.

Now five cazadores are chasing Luna.

One cazador, crawling along the ground towards Sage - since his wings are damaged and he cannot fly.

Sage stretches his shaking arms forward and fires a series of shots from twin semiautomatic pistols.

The bullets tear through chitin.

Soon another vile insectoid monster corpse lies before Sage's feet...

Another cazador flies chaotically at high altitude. One of its eyes is damaged by Aurora's boot knife. Soon this monster flies away somewhere far away.

Probably, if Aurora survives, she will have to find another melee weapon for herself...

At this moment, Luna runs about fifteen meters ahead along the path.

She ignores the pain from her wounds.

While she was running, the enraged cazadores did not stop attacking her.

The poisoned stingers inflicted several wounds on her: above the elbow of her left arm, near the right shoulder, in the calf of her right leg.

Due to the burning pain and the effects of the poisoning, Luna is close to losing consciousness...

With her last strength, she screams: "Blast wave! Now!"

Lying on the ground, Aurora realizes the meaning of this scream and takes action before her thoughts prevent it.

A shot from a portable handheld rocket launcher.

The mini-rocket flies along a trajectory slightly above the flock of cazadores, which is now attacking Luna.

A powerful, deafening explosion occurs in the air.

The blast wave impacts the bodies of the five cazadores, breaking their wings and crumpling their flesh.

A minute later, Sage and Aurora come to their senses and, barely enduring the pain from their wounds, rise to their feet.

Sage slowly approaches Aurora.

Aurora breathes heavily and looks ahead in the direction of the path.

The narrow path has become even more inconvenient for progress due to the collapse of rocks from above.

The corpses of vile insectoid monsters lie in pools of slime on the ground.

Aurora's gaze scans the area, trying to spot Luna.

But Luna is nowhere to be seen!

Only small stones roll off the edge of the path...

Aurora says in shock: "I... I didn't mean to do this..."

of Sage's voice is sad: "She told you to do it... We need to move on."

The two rabbit-girls take medicines out of their backpacks and treat their wounds. A significant part of the medicines and antidotes had to be spent...

Then Sage and Aurora slowly walk forward along the path.

They look down - at the bottom of the gorge.

At the bottom of the gorge there are a small number of some holes (or miniature caves?).

And near one of these holes, traces of blood and scraps of Luna's clothes are clearly visible.

It is obvious that the blast wave threw her aside and she fell from a great height to the bottom of the canyon.

Her body is not visible.

But Sage and Aurora think that the chances of her survival are extremely small.

They believe that Luna is dead.

Unfortunately, there is no room for prolonged grief and weakness in the wastelands. Trying to go down to the bottom of the canyon and find the body of the deceased for a decent burial is not only a waste of time and energy, but also an extremely high risk to life (who knows what creatures can live at the bottom of this canyon?).

So Sage and Aurora continue on their way.

Now there is no trio, now they must complete their task together.

Just the two of them.
