The owner

Nancy nearly jumped out of her skin at the voice behind her. "You alright Luv" the voice said. She stood up quickly, finding the voice to belong to a rather scruffy balding man who she presumed to be the shopkeeper.

He looked her up and down, a frown forming on his face. Nancy excused herself and made her way home. The young woman was in for a shock. Her house was nowhere to be found. The street name was correct however standing right where her house should have been was a very plain looking set of flats. Confused and upset, Nancy looked for a place to sit down. She soon found something familiar, a bench that she would frequently use as a meeting place with her friends. She sat down and began to sob. If she was indeed stuck in the year 2023, she was out of her depth. How had people moved on? What sort of world had she been thrown into? She just hoped the free love movement that she had been enjoying only hours before was still going strong. Hopefully someone would be able to help her.
