The ogre

You turn to Shana. She is still kneeling with her staff for support. She hasn't said a word since she cast the fire spell. The ogre is looming over her like a shadow of ****. Your fear has you frozen in place, as if staying still will keep it from seeing you.

His club is in one hand while his other is a clenched fist. If either were to strike Shana, she would be killed instantly.

In your haste to save Shana from the goblins, you had forgotten about Lydia and the ogre. The ogre had no interest in you while the goblins were beating you senseless. Now that you and Shana turned the tide of the battle by eliminating the goblins, the ogre seems to have forgotten about Lydia, who was still slumped against the tree where she landed.

You look back and forth between Lydia, the ogre, and Shana. For once, you wish that Lydia would get up. Maybe then, you could defeat the ogre together.

The ogre slowly raises its club. It's going to squash Shana. You have to do something, but what?

"Hey assbutt!" You yell at the ogre. It pauses and looks towards you. You quickly wish you had just shut up. "L-le-leave her alone!"

You are a moron. A very scared moron. You do everything possible to keep from shaking as the ogre lowers its club back to the ground staring at you the entire time as if trying to figure out what just happened.

"I don't care what you do to that knight," you say pointing at Lydia, "but this one is mine! Leave her alone or you'll regret it!"

The ogre roars and beats its chest with its hand accepting your challenge. Maybe you should have worded that differently. As he steps around Shana, she looks up at you. Your eyes meet and you hope she can't tell how utterly terrified you are. The ogre smiles down at you with one intention in his eyes, To kill you.
