The end of the first day

Ms. Moreau ended her class early seeing how most of the class looked longingly out the window at the beautiful sunshine. Adam walked over to his group of friends outside the classroom before they all went their separate ways home. Adam nodded discreetly at Chelsea as she walked by surrounded by her posse, it seemed that only Heather noticed the slight motion of his head, as she smiled wickedly at him. It seemed that maybe he had misinterpreted her look, now that he thought about it, it seemed as if she was more surprised than angry or disappointed. Why would she be angry or disappointed anyway?

One person who was obviously not a happy camper at the moment was Vicky. She stood gloomily far enough that she was still perceived to be listening to their conversation, but still as far away as possible. After everyone had said their goodbyes for the evening, his friends went along their ways home. Vicky took the excuse to walk out of the school building. Adam remembered that they were supposed to talk after class, and followed her after saying his own goodbyes. He found her standing under a tree on a hill that was on the school's property. He climbed up the hill, and by the time he got there, Vicky was lying down and staring at the canopy of leaves above her. He sat down against the thick trunk of the tree looking at her pretend he wasn't there. It was a couple more minutes before she spoke. "I heard from Chelsea what happened, and her story." Vicky said finally.

"I didn't mean to sleep with your nemesis or anything Vicky, it just happened, you know?" Adam said.

"Well, the situation has resolved itself, there was no need for me to be so angry anyway, we did just meet." She said as she stood up. She stretched with her arms in the air, making all the muscles in her body go taught, which was quite a sight to see. "Adam, do you think I'm pretty?" She asked suddenly causing shocking Adam.

"Pretty? Yeah, I think so, and so do most guys in the school if I had to guess." Adam said.

"Really? Like who?" Vicky said

"Have you not seen the way guys look at you? I've been here one day, and I've seen quite a bit."

"Really?" Vicky asked interested in what Adam was saying.

"I know someone in our friend circle who is really crushing on you hard. I'm not going to say anything more, but I will say to narrow it down, that he currently has a girlfriend." You say smugly. After witnessing Zack's looks at Vicky, there could only be one explanation, and unfortunately that didn't bode well for poor Lisa.

"Hey lovebirds! Come on!" Talking about Lisa, there she was. She stood at the bottom of the hill looking up at us and waving. Vicky gathered up her things as we made our way down the hill, still muttering something about love birds. "Well?" Lisa asked when we got down the hill.

"Well what?" Vicky said calmly.

"You know? That just happens to be one of the mot romantic points in the town, and I did just catch you two up there alone."

"I see how that could be misconstrued Lisa." You laugh to break the ice a little bit "Vicky just took me up there to show me the view from there." He said.

"Sure. Oh well, you two want to come over to Zack's? He invited you two, but he didn't know where you ran off to."

"I'd love to go!" Adam said excitedly.

"Unfortunately, I have a draft to write for the school paper, so I won't be able to make it." Vicky said. Was that relief that washed across Lisa's face? Does she know? Adam couldn't tell if Vicky had seen Lisa's reaction, but seeing how astute she was about everything, she may very well have. Vicky most likely knew who was crushing on her, if it was a good thing or not, he wasn't quite sure yet. Adam watched Lisa watch Vicky walk away and out of sight down the winding path into the residential neighborhood. She turned to him and looked him straight in the eye, having to look up to do so.

"How much do you know?"

"About what Lisa?"

"About Zack's crush on Vicky."

"I suspected a lot, and I now know a lot. Vicky probably knows too now also." Adam said to Lisa. She sighed and started walking, Adam followed behind.

"Do Zack and I look happy to you Adam?"

"Yes, why do you ask?"

"Because we aren't! I'm holding on to a relationship that is practically dead. We don't have sex anymore, when I'm with him, I'm always second best to Vicky." She growls in annoyance. Coming from someone who had sex for the first time today, Adam couldn't help but admire Zack, but also think of him as a fool. Why would someone give up a good relationship for a crush? Then again, Adam had never been in a relationship, so he still had lots to learn.

"Excuse me for prying, but then why do you put up this mask of a happy girlfriend, when according to what you're telling me, you're anything but?"

"Why do you think? I still love the guy, even if he doesn't love me anymore, I still have hope that he will look beside him and see that he still has me, and that he doesn't need to chase anyone else. Well, at least he's crushing on Vicky and not Heather, otherwise I'd probably already be out of a relationship."

"If I would give you some advice, I'd say to end what's left of your relationship, and move on in life."

"Good advice, and are you going to pick me up as soon as I'm single?" She asked him as they walked down a street Adam didn't recognize.

"Gladly." Adam said looking down at the little Latina beauty walking beside him "Though, you'd probably do A ok by yourself." He added.

"Definitely, I'm not looking for another relationship for a while after this one. I can't break up with him just yet though, Ashley's birthday party is coming up, and I'm planning something special for the night afterwards. It may end up being a break up present, or maybe it will help to brighten our dimming star." She said as they walked up the driveway of a house that must be Zack's. Lisa rang the doorbell then whispered to him "Tell no one about this!"

"You have my word."

"Good." The door opened and a woman with wavy blonde hair and perpetually twinkling light blue eyes appeared. Adam was speechless, he had come here expecting, to see Zack open he door, but here stood someone who could only be described as a wet dream fantasy.

"Ashley! Let Zack know he's got guests! Oh and Taylor, you're going to want to see this guy, so get your fat ass down here!" She shouted up the stairs as she looked back at the two of them standing in the doorway. "Come in, come in. Here Lisa let me take that." She said as she took Lisa's jacket.

"Nice to see you again Hannah." Lisa said. So the girl's name was Hannah? She seemed to be a little older than Adam, but not to much older as far as he could tell.

"Likewise sweetie." She smiled at Lisa before turning her startling blue eyes on Adam, and looking him up and down. "And this must be who Ashley was telling me so much about." She mused audibly to herself. Just then Ashley came bounding down the stairs.

"Lisa, and Adam! Awesome, tonight is going to be so much fun!" She said excitingly as she led them through the house to the living room where they all sat on the sofas.

"I was just thinking how you described Adam here, and it was incredibly accurate, down to the minute details. How much time do you actually spend studying at school?" Hannah joked with her Ashley.

"They're sisters." Lisa whispered in his ear. Oh, that explains why they look so alike, and why the banter flows so easy between the two of them.

"Well you weren't so different as I recall Hannah." Said a girl who had appeared in the room moments before.

"That's Taylor, Zack's sister." Lisa whispered again. What was in the water here?! How could every single girl be super hot? Taylor's voice with it's sexy rasp is just the beginning of her sex appeal. She had long wavy dark brown hair with blue eyes as well.

"Is this who you wanted me to see? Hmm, not bad, not bad at all. Who's boyfriend is he?" Taylor asked. "Oh by the way, I'm Taylor." She reached her hand out, and I took it with my own.

"Hi, Adam, nice to meet you."

"I'm Hannah." Hannah said from the opposite sofa where she was sitting with Ashley.

"He's single apparently." Hannah looked at me for confirmation which I nodded to.

"Well damn!" Taylor said, but before she could say any more, Zack and Brandon entered the room changed into some less formal clothes.

"Ok, let's start planning Ashley's birthday." Zack said.
