The challenge begins

"'Hello, Sydney. We hope you aren't too cold.' I'm fucking naked, what do you think? 'As you've probably guessed by now, your challenge is to build a car and drive back to our studio to reclaim your clothes. Everything you need is here, and as someone who's worked on cars before, this should be a cakewalk for you.'

"'A party is taking place here 24 hours from now-' wait, is that a 24, or a 16?" Sydney asked. "It's been written over. 'A party is taking place 24' or 16, learn to write, 'hours from now, so unless you want to be seen in your birthday suit, I'd suggest getting a move on. Good luck, and maybe see you soon.' PS. None of us are mechanics and our only experience in building stuff is with LEGO, but I'm sure you'll be OK with what we've put together.' Are you serious?!"

What had been put together was a cross-section of a car that looked like it had been sketched in about 5 minutes, and drawn with a pen that was running out of ink.

Holding it up to the light, if Sydney squinted, she could just about make out some brief instructions:

'The wheels go here.'

'This is probably where the engine goes, just don't ask how you put one together.'

'This is the windscreen, even I know that one'

'I've heard of a carburetor and a manifold, but don't have a clue what they are, lol'

'Not sure what this is, something to do with the brakes?'

The naked girl didn't know whether to scream or cry. Even if she was in a state-of-the-art factory, it would still take her more than 2 days to build a car by hand.

To do so in her current state, with the tools she had, would take her far longer. But in 24 hours, or maybe less, potentially hundreds of people were going to be here!

There was no time to waste complaining though. The robot had trundled off while Sydney had been engrossed in her instructions, leaving her totally bare and without any rations.

Taking some deep, calming breaths, Sydney focused her mind, and got to work.
