Chapter 38

What awaited you, Elijah and the Williams family next after this?
The calm voyage to the Axeman City.
After received the money and being treated with a lunch by Miyuki Vargas and her female cousin after you impregnated them, you returned for the Workers' Quarter for one of its markets to buy some supplies for yourself.
There, you found people selling goods most likely exported from Axeman City and even the Orange Kingdom such as bottles of honey, oats, pinto beans, pecans, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, corns, a variety of berries, products made of pygmy bison such as coats made from their wool, leathers made from their hides, meats that are either still raw or already cooked, the big eggs that are definitely from the emu-like chickens, and the dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheese that you still have no idea where they came from but since they are exports, they are most likely originated from somewhere else.
So you buy some oatcakes, pecans and a pack of dried jerky made from pygmy bison's meats in dried leaves for yourself and then heading back for the Williams family's manor by calling for the emu-like chickens-driven-carriage to take you there.
After staying there for a week without an incident, all things that they intended to take with them are now packed and Lydia already invited her mother who is a widow from the Quarter of Priests and Scholars to come and live with her so that her husband's family can help supporting her and so that she can get to see her grandson and another soon-to-be born grandchild since Lydia's belly has grown huge ever since the massacre a few months ago.
With all of their belongings packed and Lydia's mother decided to come with the Williams family, you boarded the ship (small yacht) setting course for returning to Axeman City after delivering the goods along with them and their servants, Elijah and Bartholomew, Brittany's pet that is a giant chameleon-like anole, to take refuge with the Sullivan family in Axeman City.
This ship was crowded and you had to pay a significant amount of money to the captain (due to the number of passengers and because of the "pet" of Brittany).
During the trip to the Axeman City, you get to see the beauty of this river and its shores once again. Just a few hours after the departure, you and Brittany witnessed three horse-headed creatures with bodies of gorillas are drinking from the river in the manner similar to how the giraffes would drink along with a small pack of the cat-sized kangaroo-like rats similar to the one that you and Brittany were eating on the way to Port Williams.
On the other riverbank, two puma-like lions come to the shores and begin to drink. And you and Brittany can see that their months and teeth are covered in blood, indicating that they just recently eaten foods. On the opposing riverbank, the prey animals turned their backs on the river and leave toward inland.
By going down the river with an small yacht, everything remained safe and that make the atmosphere calm and smooth. And for many days, it remained that way. No pirates' fleet in sights and no dangerous predatory animals attacked from underwater.
During the days on the ship, Brittany decided to use this as an opportunity to form closer and better relationship with you since you are now being **** to take responsibility of her due to being the one who gotten her pregnant. But due to the need of hiding who you really are outside from her and Elijah, you and her can only exchanged knowledge about one another in private such as if you visited her room or vice versa.
Most of the times, she asked about what the United States was like and what the world was like back then before the Third Great War. But on some occasions, she did ask about personal things such as were you married before you met her and had children already with the woman you married or not.
Eventually, you, Elijah and Brittany's family made it to the Axeman City along with their servants and Bartholomew. And the sight of it is quite something. Its harbor has more vessels and warehouses to house the goods than the one at Port Williams and since this is a port city, it means this place is a bigger than Port Williams.
From afar, you can see people in the city are riding emu-like chickens to somewhere in the city while others go by their own feet. Those who are wealthy or could afford carriages get to ride inside such vehicles powered by the emu-like chickens.
Not long after left the ship and heading to find the manor where the Sullivan family resided, one of the crewmen stepped out and walk to somewhere else in the city.
Who is the mysterious individual that just left the yacht?
