The barmaid shows interest in the party

DM: The barmaid approaches your table, a gorgeous, voluptuous brunette wearing a colorful blouse and an ankle length skirt. She leans over in your direction and lowers her voice: ”Hello there, I couldn’t help but overhear you’re looking for some work suited to your talents… Do those talents perhaps involve discretion, ingenuity and subtlety?”

BARD: Do I get a glimpse of her cleavage as she leans in?

DM: So much for subtlety. But no, her blouse is buttoned up most of the way. You can roll an insight check though.

BARD: I sure want to ‘check inside’, but I don’t think that’s what you’re making me roll for >Dice clatter< Uhm… a 14.

DM: That’s sufficient. By the way she lowers her voice and leans over to make sure no one else hears here you get the distinct feeling she might be involved in some clandestine activities and wishes to covertly test your capabilities and discretion before inducting you into whatever dealings or organization she’s involved in. In fact, maybe the entire tavern is a front for criminal activity.

BARD: I lean in her direction and flash a seductive smile. ”Discretion, ingenuity and subtlety are our middle names. Would this perchance mean you have a job for us?”

DM: The barmaid’s mouth curls as she chuckles at your audacious demeanor. ”Possibly. But first I want to see if you really have what it takes…”
