You shake your head with a grin on your face. “I’m afraid I’ll have to get back to you on that one.{if Marius' Office} My placement on the western front has just been overturned by Marius. I am to guard the south entrance while the deployment takes place.”

He looked at you, a shocked look on his face. “Boy, I’ve been here 35 years. Never has the general meddled in such lowly affairs. What have you done?”

“Worked hard, trained hard and I went to every boring and shitty mission I could get my hands on. Just like you told me to, old man. Didn’t know, that Marius wouldn’t like industriousness.”

“Me neither. Send him over to me and I’ll give him a good lesson, just like in old times.”, Raphael answered and pat your back.”

“I will tell him to, when he invites me to his next private audience.”, you say.

“Well, in the meantime, care to spare?”, Raphael looks at you, with a cheeky smile.

“Just be sure to come home safe, will you?” Raphael locked eyes with you.

“I will, old man. I’m in line for the strategic corps, they won’t send me to the front lines.”, you say.

“Good to hear. You made some wise choices to get there.”

“I had a good mentor.”, you answer.

“I know. How about it, until you are promoted and forget about me, like good old Marius, care for a spare?” He asked you, with a smile on his face.

“Sure!” you answer and prepare yourself for a beating.

You both spare for a few hours. It could be a good idea to return here and hone your fighting abilities every now and then.
