“Okay but slayyy! Y’all are serving sapphic girl-gang realness! Lena told me she’d found some cute divas but I didn’t know you’d be so stunning!” Emma says enthusiastically. Mia matches her energy immediately, while I’m a little slower on the uptake. “Coming from someone as fierce as you!” She replies, moving in to hug the older woman.

Mia isn’t wrong, Emma looks absolutely incredible. She’s wearing a red t-shirt dress that shows off her incredible figure and is fairly lowcut to expose her gigantic cleavage. With what I can see and the information from her character sheet, it’s easy to tell that her boobs rival Olivia’s in size.

Her right arm and the back of her right hand is covered entirely by gorgeous tattoos, and she has a few on her left arm, and a couple on her thighs that are partially covered by the dress. She also has the tops of her feet tattooed, some on her neck, and snake head tattoos peering out from her low cut dress. Her super dark brown hair is currently in a bob cut, which looks amazing on her. She wears hoop earrings and red heels that match the dress.

Her makeup is just as gorgeous as the rest of her outfit. She’s wearing smoky eyeshadow, with minimal blush and a nude lip colour that complements the look perfectly. Her full lips are curved into an excited smile, as she wraps her arms around Mia.

Emma pulls back from Mia and turns to Paige. “And look at you, Miss Thing! Your tattoos are stunning!” She says. Paige immediately turns as red as Emma’s dress and hides her face behind her hands. “…thank you…” The earth mage says, her voice muffled and quiet from the embarassment.

Emma cackles at the reaction. “That’s some bottom energy if I’ve ever seen it.” She giggles triumphantly. Lena snickers at the exchange as Paige snaps her head up, panicked. “Um…heck…nono…w-what…” She stutters, completely unsure of what to say. Emma laughs gently, walking up to our girlfriend. “It’s okay gorgeous, nothing to be embarrassed about. Are you okay with hugs?” The older woman asks.

Paige looks at the ground, unable to meet Emma’s eyes, but nods without hesitation just the same. Emma pulls her in, holding her tightly. Paige nuzzles her head into Emma, if only to hide her face more. The tattooed sapphic responds by gently massaging the back of Paige’s head, eliciting a small embarrassed sound from our girlfriend.

Paige clings on tight for a few seconds before the two of them separate and Paige returns to hiding her face in her hands for the moment. Emma then turns to me, and studies me for a moment. “Ooo I adore this fit, and the vibe? Immaculate. I see you diva.” She says.

“Thanks, I think. Same to you, and you’re absolutely gorgeous.” I say, accepting the hugs that Emma wordlessly offers with raised arms. She gently massages my back, and I smile. I don’t know what exactly it is about her, but I really like her energy. I can’t help but feel like I need more of it in my life.

We’ve chosen to meet Emma at the same Oliver Brown cafe chain that Mia and I met Lena at, because we know it, and because it’s fairly easy for all of us to get to. Emma and I separate after a moment, and we take our seats at a table for six, with Mia, Paige and I on one side, and Lena and Emma on the other.

Lena raises an eyebrow at me questioningly. I informed her beforehand that Observe might reveal if Emma has some kind of hidden powers or something, so she’s obviously curious about the answer to that. I shake my head subtly. Lena pouts slightly, but nods. She knew it was a long shot for it to be that easy anyway.

Emma meanwhile is distracted by Paige and her tattoos. “Whose work is that sleeve? It’s stunning, I’m gagged. I’m gonna need their deets.” Emma says. Paige blushes again, but manages to answer without stuttering. “I have a few friends in Newtown who did it all, it’s a place called Thirteen Feet Tattoo. They’re really good.” She says, smiling shyly at the older woman.

Emma grins even wider. “Werk. I normally see the queens over in Bondi, at a spot called Valhalla. My very best judy, Alyssa works there, she’s responsible for the gorgeous artwork on me.” She says, scanning the QR code for the menu for the cafe. “D-do any of your tattoos have a m…meaning to you?” Paige asks, blushing deeper red with every word.

Emma smirks. “You’re adorable, I’m living for it.” She replies. Paige makes an embarrassed noise, a little “Ah!” Sound and hides her face behind her hands. Mia massages her on the back gently while Emma giggles softly. “Awww you’re such a cutie. A couple of them do, but a lot of them I just got because they’re pretty.”

“I know you can’t really see it, but I have a quote on my thigh, ‘It’s not as much fun to pick up the pieces’. It’s from a Nine Inch Nails song called The Perfect ****. There are a lot of different meanings people attribute to the song, but to me, it’s about the struggle of a codependent relationship. I got that quote tattooed on me as a celebration of getting out of a bad situation.” She says.

“I-I’m really sorry that you went through that, i-it sounds awful…” Paige says, her voice small and timid. “That was ages ago now, but my angel numbers protect me. The 333 above my belly button brings me divine feminine energy and strength. You might get a chance to see it for yourself…if you get close…to me...” Emma flirts very deliberately, looking Paige up and down hungrily, undressing her with her eyes.

Paige blushes hard at the words and looks at the table, playing with her hair and fidgeting. Emma keeps up the teasing gaze, smirking at our easily flustered girlfriend. She keeps up the pressure for a few more seconds, before softening, and taking a sip of her drink. Paige cuddles into Mia, recovering from the intense teasing.

Emma continues her explanation like nothing happened. “I know I’m divinely protected and empowered because the day after getting my angel numbers tattooed, I fell into the arms of this incredible beauty and I haven’t looked back since.” She says, smiling lovingly at Lena. “Guess I’m your good luck charm.” Lena says happily, the twinkle of love in her eye. “I guess you are, my Princess.” Emma replies in kind, the word sounding different than a simple nickname.

It’s a title, I realise. Not just a pet name. A show of respect and admiration between the two. A warmth spreads through my chest and I’m overcome with emotion for a moment. Their bond is palpable. They hold each others gaze for a couple of seconds, the looks in their eyes saying more than words ever could. I squeeze Mia’s hand under the table, and she squeezes it back. This kind of love is beautiful to witness.

The two of them share a quick kiss, seemingly unable to resist. “Awwww!” Mia calls out, and the two of them giggle in response. “Sorry, couldn’t resist.” Emma says. “You know, you’re covered in more than just lucky numbers. With the amount of birds, snakes, butterflies and roses you have, we could have probably saved for a house with that money.” Lena fake scolds her girlfriend, and Emma just sticks her tongue out in response.

“What do I always tell you honey? Me being pretty is priceless.” She says, and Lena agrees immediately. “Absolutely, you’re gorgeous, one of a kind. I also want to have a place to live though.” She replies, pecking Emma on the cheek. The tattooed sapphic rolls her eyes and sighs in the exasperated manner of a long running joke between two people who know each other well.

“We can still afford rent easily. My tattoos aren’t bankrupting us, and we’ll have enough for a deposit in a few years anyway.” She repeats a tired argument and Lena punches her in the arm. Emma raises an eyebrow and the water mage starts to giggle in a triumphant manner. Emma whispers something and it’s only thanks to my senses having been elevated to near superhuman that I can hear the words.

“You’re getting the paddle tonight.” Emma whispers, taking a sip of her drink casually. Lena blushes slightly, still grinning like a madwoman. I take a sip of my drink as well, pretending to not have heard a thing. Lena looks over and winks at me subtly, guessing correctly that I’m very much aware of what was said.
