The Summer Vacation v2

So, this is the updated start for my story ‘The Summer Vacation’.

There are two major changes to this story’s canon.

The first is that all of the teens who are Zack’s age have just finished their junior year, not their senior year.

The second is that Paris’ mother, Louise Bishop, is still alive, which is not only an alteration to my story’s canon, but the canon established by the story’s creator, Duskford.

All characters who are at the cabin are 18 years or older despite them having just finished junior year.

Zack is very freshly 18, though, while everyone else has been 18 for a few weeks or months even.

Zack Bishop contemplated as he stood at the foot of his bed, packing a suitcase.

If they were going to be there for eight days, that means he needs… eight shirts, nine boxers, and a couple pairs of socks.

“You ready yet, honey?” a voice asked, and Monica Bishop, Zack’s mother, poked her head in.

“Uh, not really.” Zack confessed.

It was nearing midnight, and they were leaving for the Ravers Cabin up by Silver Lake tomorrow morning at about nine.

Monica came into the room, and Zack glanced at his mother. Her long dark brown hair which she usually just let hang down around her shoulders, was pulled back into a ponytail, and her icy blue eyes swept across Zack’s room.

Monica was clearly ready for bed, wearing a loose shirt and some black cotton shorts. The loose shirt did little to hide Monica’s large breasts, and if Monica was facing away from Zack, he would be able to see her curvy ass.

Some people might think it sick that Zack considers his mother a gorgeous woman, but Zack had a LOT of fantasies floating around his head. He was a horny virgin, after all.

His only experience with a girl was with his old girlfriend, Lisa Rivera, but she’d dumped him towards the end of junior year, so about four months ago, because he wanted to take things slow, and she wasn’t pleased with that.

Zack, like most of his friends, was freshly 18, yet still had his entire senior year ahead of him. But for now, it was summer, late June, to be exact, and Robert Ravers had extended an invitation to the people he was close with to come stay at his cabin by the lake, which was freshly remodeled.

Robert had invited Monica, and so Zack was invited by association. He knew Robert’s daughter, Heather, pretty decently, but he wouldn’t count her among his close friends, though he was fairly friendly with one of Heather’s friends, Ashley Woodsen.

Zack only really had three super-close friends, who were Chloe McRose, Gavin Westher, and Leon Griffin. Leon and his mother, Harmony, were away on their own vacation to visit Harmony’s parents, so he wasn’t available for this trip.

Gavin’s mom, Diane, was a little bit too young for Robert to have invited her, but Zack and Chloe wanted Gavin to come, so Monica invited Diane along as well.

Quite a few families were headed to the cabin, actually. There was the Bishops, the Woodsens, the McRoses, the Westhers, the Locketts, the Coles, plus there were some Raverses coming in from out of town.

Speaking of out of town, Zack’s mother and done the impossible. She’d gotten her big sister, Mallory, to agree to go to the cabin, along with her daughter, Mia.

See, Robert Ravers and Zack’s Aunt Mallory used to date back in high school, but then they’d had a messy break-up, etc. etc.

But because Zack had just turned 18, Monica was able to use the aunt guilt to get Mallory and Mia to come to the cabin.

They didn’t live in Azure Rocks, and they were closer to the cabin than Azure Rocks, so Aunt Mallory and Mia would just meet everybody at Silver Lake.

Zack and his cousin, Mia, had some unusual history for cousins, mainly because she was his first kiss. During a game of Truth or Dare, Mia had been dared to kiss Zack, and she had.

“How much longer do you need to pack?” Monica asked Zack.

“Not long. I just need to put some clothes into my suitcase, and put some mystery novels in my backpack, and I’ll be all set.” Zack said truthfully.

“Alright. Do that and then go to bed, OK, honey?” Monica said. Zack sighed and nodded.

“Alright, mom.” he said.

Zack went through and put the clothes he needed into his suitcase, and then grabbed two mystery novels and put them into his backpack. Zack liked mysteries, and they passed the time on road trips handily.

Tomorrow, Zack and his family would be headed up to Silver Lake. Zack would be driving up with his mother, older sister, cousin, and aunt.

Deciding to listen to his mother, Zack climbed into bed, but instead of being able to fall asleep in the silence, he was disturbed by his phone buzzing. Zack flopped over to grab that off his nightstand.

The buzzing was from a group chat with all the teens who were headed to the cabin, which included Heather Ravers, who’d created the group chat. Other members of the group chat were Ashley Woodsen, Brandon and Madison Cole, Gavin, Chloe, Paris Bishop (Zack’s cousin), Logan Ravers (Heather’s cousin), and Jared Lockett.

The group chat proceeded to explode with activity as they all discussed the trip tomorrow.

Zack enjoyed chatting with his friends for quite a while, until the door opened and Monica flicked the light on.

Zack looked over at his mother, and gave a sheepish smile.

Monica walked forwards and leaned down to kiss Zack on the cheek.

“I know what it’s like to be 18 and have a bunch of friends. Just make sure you get some sleep tonight, ok, honey?” Monica sighed. Zack nodded.
