The Speach of the Daemon Emperor [part 1]
The great eye above squints slightly, surveying once more. "I look upon you all, and find thee lacking. You have allowed yourselves to fall to beck and call to another, yet you fight our domination so fervently. Why, I request. Why do you accept beings who are not even here in soul or mind yet fight against my enlightenment, which will grant so much? You all will never cease to confound me with your decisions."
It stopped suddenly, its eye moving to look at something, "What was that? Would you care to repeat that?" Its pupil dilated, expanding until it was large enough to display a visual inside. There was a single male knight, their apparel and equipment leading you to believe they are an adventurer.
The adventurer looked up at the sky confused for a minute before waving and watching themselves. "Whoa dude, that's neat. I wonder if they have someone actively voicing this then? Pretty weird he called me out though..." At this moment his eyes went wide, "Yo wait, am I being broadcasted? That's sick yo!"
The eye moved in a way that unexplainably portrayed anger, "'Sick', that is the term your sort uses to say something is interesting and positive. I despise how unserious your kind takes this life. So many around you are damned to an endless purgatory, and you laugh and slaughter them to no end. So was the creation of the dungeons, of the raids, of the 'monsters'. Tell me, 'adventurer', do you plan to fight against me?"
The dude chuckled while looking around at what you assume to be others around before giving a confident shrug, "I mean, that seems like the quest. We are gonna put a righteous end to your tyrannical reign or whatever. I am not a huge lore man myself, just like the loot." He gave a chuckle.
The eye stared blankly for a moment, speaking in a neutral tone, "Ah yes, the one thing that all adventurers want, the only thing they care for, the thing they kill for. Shiny baubles, pointlessly sharp sticks, fancy writings that produce party tricks. Would you like to see the power an artifact I made possesses? How it makes anything you could ever achieve look utterly pathetic, like a parlor trick?" The eye slitted down slightly as it finished.
The adventurer gestured to someone outside of view, making a few confused movements before looking back up, "I mean, I don't fully like being put on the spot like this, but I guess sure-" His voice cut out as he began coughing, a shocked expression covering his face as he moved his hand to his throat.
The great eye bobbed as it chuckled, squinting down while not obstructing the view. "I have noticed something about adventurers. You don't feel all the pain you should feel, when you die. So, I devised a plan. When someone is immortal, the way to make them fear **** again, is to make every **** suffering. I won't make your **** more painful, simply longer. That way, you will be **** to sit, watch, wait, ****, starve, suffocate, or however I decide until you give up."
The adventurer started to go purple, barely managing a few words out, "Why am I actually-?" He then began gurgling, a horrific mass moving visibly through his throat until reaching his mouth. True terror filled his face as the mass **** his jaw open, seemingly dislocating it as a horrific, oversized worm made its way out of his body.
The eye reopened, seemingly wanting to make sure everyone had a view, "Oh, and that's not the end. If your pain is decreased to a certain amount, I just need to find where that is. Or, perhaps how that is kept in check? Not that it matters, when I manage to kill one of you, it will be absolute. That, was the power of my third tablet, known to you as the 'Tablet of Flesh'. And don't worry, there is still so much more I can do with it. Alas, it seems I will need another subject."
The eye blinked, ending the view of the now on the ground dead adventurer. It looked around for a moment, "Let's see shall we? Who else was daring to speak down at me, saying 'this is a bit overboard for an event', or 'I can't wait to gimmick this guy once his raid comes out'? Ah, yes, you there! You will do perfectly." He opened his eye once more, this time showing a barbarian.
The barbarian took a step back, looking around before putting their hands up in the air, "Woah, I did not sign up for this, I think you got the wrong guy. I'm sorry if I badmouthed the game or something, but I don't do this stuff."
The eye became so slitted you could barely see the adventurer within it, "'Game'? GAME! You call this a game! It just shows how pathetic you are. None of you understand what it is that has been done to you, none of you care. You come here for adrenaline rushes and to fulfill fantasies because you are too powerless to do so normally." The eye widened back out, "So, allow me to show that you are no more powerful here."
Before the adventurer could speak, their mouth smoothed itself out like clay being pinched and pushed along a crack. They go wide eyed and try to claw at their face, only for their fingers to get caught in their now ooze-like face and merge into it. Their panic is obvious, but there is nothing they or any nearby can do as thy are slowly molded into a singular ball of flesh that contorts in on itself.
After this, both views pause. You hadn't even been able to notice, but you can feel yourself starting to freak out slightly. You take this second to calm yourself, trying to work through the horrific events you just saw, with difficulty.
After a few moments, the left voice returns. "I believe that is all he can see for now. I do not think he could watch more without a threat of instability, at least not as he is now." The voice seems slightly disappointed, but it doesn't feel focused at you.
The right voice lets out a large sigh, "Yes, we cannot push him. If he cannot take more, that we can only wait until he can. Any more now would only ruin all of the chances we all have been given." Once again, an annoyance of sort that did not lie with you.
As you wonder what it is they are talking about, both visions begin to fade to black. You are eventually left with nothing of the previous perspectives. You sit in this blind state for a while before you slowly become aware of some sensations.
You realize you are being softly prodded by something. As you turn your head to look towards it, you find yourself still blind. You put your hand to your eyes to make sure nothing is wrong, finding that some form of cloth has been placed on top of your face.
You remove it, ready to find out why exactly it is that someone is poking you.
Well, who is doing it and why?
