What do they do?

The Naga guides them back into the temple

Chapter 18 by NeedAMedic NeedAMedic

The stone walls swallowed them eagerly as the Bravos moved in the Naga's wake.

Now that she had had a bit of time to observe the creature, Fuu noticed a shift from his prior demeanor. When he wasn't riled up to the point of violence, the creature moved with an almost delicate countenance. His limbs were slender, and there was something of an elegance in the arch of his hooded, serpentine head. Though she was unfamiliar with the spectrum of body types common amongst Naga, Fuu noted that his chest was not particularly broad. It was certainly a slender curve compared to the broad, muscular frames of the lizardfolk they had encountered on the road some hours past.

"He's probably got a name," Robin was saying. "Most people do and he's probably even told us it, only we can't tell which sounds it is."

"You could try hissing back at him. Just... take your best guess," Emmaline said.

"...I think that'd be racist."

While the others chattered, Fuu kept her full attention on the area around and behind them. The grand stone double doors they had passed through had not closed behind them, even silently. Through the her connection with the goddess of travel, Fuu would know if that path had been closed. Yet... something still unnerved her about those doors. The sheer size of them was enough to unsettle her nerves. Yes, the Naga could grow apparently grow rather large and, with their size, would perhaps have the strength necessary to work such massive stone tablets, but why bother in the first place?

It was a temple, and the place held an air of ceremony to it, but some feeling gnawing at Fuu's mind insisted that the giant entryway wasn't just there for ceremony.

She kept an even pace with the others, her naginata not quite held in a guard, but close enough that she might flick the blade into place in an instant. The docile demeanor of their newfound tour guide didn't feel like a facade, but it never hurt to be careful. ...especially after they day they'd had so far.

"Is, um, is this it?" Robin asked. Midway down a long hall, the Naga had made an abrupt left-hand turn and was now staring intently at what appeared to be a plain brick wall.

"Maybe he just wanted to show us his favorite brick," Emmaline said.

Oblivious to their foreign words, the Naga reached out. A finger carefully felt under the bottom edge of a particular brick then lifted and shifted it forward. As it sunk into the wall, something creaked, crunched, and shifted deep within the temple walls. Fuu could feel it as much as hear it, a great, prodigious, grinding of stone against stone in immense weight and volume. Before their eyes, the bricks began to slope sideways as a good twenty foot chunk of the wall in front of them slid into the floor like a door off it's hinge.
