What Else Happened Today

The Lion, the Wolf, and the Cabin

Charlotte McRose, waited impatiently for her client, he was half an hour late. The busty redhead had driven nearly two hours to this rundown cabin at the far end of Silver Lake. For the tenth time she looked over the cabin. Even though it was only about 12 years old it was completely run down, she doubted that anybody had ever lived in it.

'This is perfect for us.' She thought. 'If this client doesn't buy it maybe we can buy it, fix it up and flip it.' She ran some of the numbers in her head, with luck they might, might get double the price after making some repairs. "More like a lot of repairs... but... We could finally cancel our debts."

Her mind drifted off to her personal thoughts. Her daughter Chloe's 16th birthday was coming up soon. They had a small party planned at home, just a few close friends and family, she wished she could give her something better but it was what it was. She was going to have to talk to her again about the curse, might has well include Holly. Charlotte smiled has she remembered her own story. She raised her hand to look at the wedding ring Roy had bought her, a thick gold ring with a wolf's head that seemed to rise from within the ring holding a single round deep red ruby in its jaw. She couldn't wait to get back home to her husband. 'Might just drop in to the office for a quickie and get an early start before the cubs get home.' she smiled to herself feeling the heat from her loins flush inside her.

Finally she saw an elegant black Mercedes-Benz roll up to the cabin and park next to her more modest red Volkswagen. She watched the Chauffer step out and open the backdoor for her client to step out. Charlotte decided to wait for him on the porch steps instead and going down to meet him. 'No sense in walking down just to walk back up again.' she thought.

She watched the tall handsome man climb the stairs and she reached out to shake his hand.

"Good Morning Mr. Ravers, I am Charlotte McRose from Azure Real Estate. Pleased to meet you." she said with a pleasant smile.

"Please, call me Robert," He said giving her his best smile to which Charlotte simply nodded. 'Well so far the rumors are true, he is handsome and charming.' she thought.

"Has you can see, from here the cabin has a beautiful view of the lake and the valley. We are also almost at the far end of the lake. The Silver River, that feeds into the Lake, is about two miles away is that direction" she said point to the south of their position. "If you decide to purchase the cabin, we can bring in some workers to clear the tall grass and parking lot for you. No extra cost there."

A rustle in the nearby trees caught their attention for a moment and startled Charlotte before they realized it was just a deer passing by.

"Don't worry" Robert said calmly, "The Park Rangers make sure to tag and remove any bears or mountain lions that wander into the area. Fortunately, there are no wolves in the area."

"They are making a comeback you know." Charlotte said thoughtfully for a moment. "Anyway, would you like to see the inside now?" She asked him.

"Sure would, after you." Robert said admiring her round ass has she led the way.

"Then follow me Mr. Ravers." Charlotte said. She made a quick tour through the cabin that was more like a small mansion with lots of rooms, both small and large. Charlotte noticed his gaze wander all over her and his comments with regards to the cabin were all made on autopilot. She was used to having men, and a few women, admire her, and while the attention was flattering nothing could ever compare to Roy. She choose to ignore his other comments, recognizing them for what they were, subtle pulls of seduction, and decided to shorten the visit and lead him back to the front of the cabin.

"Well Mr. Ravers-" Charlotte started to speak has they returned to the front door.

"-Please call me Robert," he said.

Charlotte just smiled and nodded. "The property containing the house, is 60 acres of land that you can seal off and develop has you wish within the Azure Rock building codes." Charlotte dropped the selling price and Robert simple nodded nonchalantly. 'Shit! He didn't even bat an eye, should have quoted twice has much.' she thought.

"Perhaps we could talk about an offer over dinner? Maybe you could tell me what other... properties you have around the lake that you could.... maybe... show me later?" Roberts asked moving closer to her.

'Yeah right, like I'm going to slip into that one.' Charlotte thought has she instantly recognized the ploy.

"I'm sorry Mr. Ravers," Charlotte smiled politely, "But I must decline, I only have dinner with my family."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply something else, perhaps a business lunch at Goforth's would be more appropriate?" He smiled has he leaned in to make the offer.

"Mr. Ravers, I only have lunch with my Husband." Charlotte answered emphasizing the 'husband' part, "And I only have drinks with my girlfriends." she added.

Robert raised his eyebrows and leaned back, a little surprised his charm hadn't worked.

"Mr. Ravers, I mean no disrespect, the offer is flattering, truly it is, but you should know that Lions and Wolves don't mix." Charlotte added.

"What are you taking about... Lions and Wolves...?" He asked confused. "Is this some sort of class thing?" Robert asked a bit put off now, assuming the it was another jab at him for having money and other people not having it.

Charlotte gave him the sweetest laughter, amused at his discomfort. 'Didn't expect that comeback did you?'

"Not at all Mr. Ravers, not at all! Your Fortune, and your Fame, are well earned. Lions, Mr. Ravers," Charlotte added. "It's on your company's Logo, probably on your family crest, and..." she added tapping the pendant hanging on a necklace with her fingernail "... it's on this pendant. You are Lions Mr. Ravers, King of the Jungle. We are simple Wolves." she said flashing her wedding ring with the wolf head for him to see. "It is flattering, but we just don't mix."

Charlotte turned and walked down the stairs to her car. "Mr. Ravers. We can keep the offer open for you till the end of the month. You can talk to my boss about an offer. After that I am afraid it will have to be first come first served. Have a nice day Mr. Ravers."

Has she started her two hour dive back to town Charlotte thought 'Yep the rumors are true, he is tall, handsome, charming and always on the prowl. No wonder his wife left him. At least this wasn't a total waste of time. The foundation and structure look pretty sound. If they are that Cabin is going to be a great fix-n-flip for us. We could pay off our debts and start saving for the girl's collage'

==================================================

Narrator: Poor Robert Ravers. If he hadn't been so smitten by Mrs. McRose he might have noticed the tile that covered the secret pressure plate. The one painted with a raging tiger, the same raging tiger logo of Jaisur Ltd.
