The King wants a show

"Why are we going to Buckingham, anyway?" Debbi asked Carol "surely we can't be all that important?"

"Maybe not," Jeff answered her question as the pints lined up on their table, "but His Majesty wants a special audience with an MP that has caused quite a stir in the last election."

"Alright," Debbi continued, "this appears quite odd, but I'm not one to pass up a royal audience."

"It'll be quite a good show!" Diane chuckled, her seat still a distance from Jeff's in light of her recent insubordination.

"What do you mean?" Debbi continued, "I'll be fully clothed..."

The threes' eyes widened as they simply sipped on their beverages and looked at each other in silence.

"Right....?"

Buckingham Palace

The King and Queen this morning received members of the House of Commons at Buckingham Palace.

The King held a Council at St. James's Palace at 9.30 a.m..

There was present: the Rt Hon. The Prime Minister.

Ms. Debbi Jenkins MP, Mr. Jeff Buckley MP, Ms. Diane du Bois MP and Ms. Carol Sunderland MP were sworn in or made affirmation as members of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council.

The following took the Oath of Office or made affirmation, kissed hands upon appointment and received the Seals of Office: the Rt Hon. Debbi Jenkins MP (as Secretary of State for Rate Variance), the Rt Hon. Jeff Buckley MP (as Secretary of State for Quadruple Locking), the Rt Hon. Diane du Bois MP (as Secretary of State for Silly Walks) and the Rt Hon. Carol Sunderland MP (as Secretary of State for House of Lords Expansion).

Mr. George Nixon was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

"Debbi," Jeff received her coldly as the Lab Dem delegation assembled with the Prime Minister in front of the palace, "what are you doing with those clothes?"

"Well, I can't be naked in front of the King!" Debbi protested.

"I'm not so sure of that," Jeff replied coolly as the group was escorted into the royal chambers. The Lab Dems were awed at the graying-haired monarch, who was dressed sharply in a double-breasted suit.

"Your Majesty," Jeff began to address him with reverence, "it is the utmost pleasure to be here."

"Where is Naked Debbi?" the King simply asked.

"This is she," Debbi tried to match the levels of formality, "but I must not be naked in such an environment as this."

"We do not share those beliefs," the King continued, "given the track record of the new party and the pivotal role of nudity therefor."

Debbi was shocked. Surely His Majesty didn't intend for her to be nude in front of him, right now?
