Chapter 3 by Ray Charles Ray Charles

Next Stop

The Hospital

Inside the hospital I'm first met with a hospital room just full of all kinds of people, and the only way I was getting past the nurse at the front was if I could control, teleport, or encase myself in darkness to become unseen.

But none of those are really possible, as she's way too busy dealing with all the people in her office room to even try to deal with me, as every time I even tried to talk to her, she just held up her finger as she talked with other nurses and patients.

Having enough of this, I walk out of the hospital and go through the alley right beside it and find the door leading inside.

Of course it's locked, but thanks to Jake's training and having been locked out one too many times of my former apartment by my drunk-ass roommates forgetting that I was outside along with stealing my key as they fucking lost the damn key once fucking more!

AGH! Just thinking about those pricks makes me want to fight something, but I hold myself back, as I have no idea what my new body can do, and the last thing I need in life is the police coming after me... Although considering what I've heard from the news, I could maybe kill a few to get a free gun.…

No! Those are some dangerous thoughts right there, especially when I have no idea how good some of the detectives or officers might be, and I don't think that prick would just let me get away with possibly letting others know about us because I can't hold back.

"Mother fucker! How fucking hard is this damn lock!?" And after I grunted that aloud, did I finally hear that beautiful clicking sound that let me know I was finally in!

Entering the hospital, or rather the stairs for all the floors of the hospital, I picked the lock for the double doors in front of me and started sneaking through the place until I found myself at the security guard's office.

I snuck up behind the poor lad and sucked him almost dry, just like the homeless man, so he wouldn't get in my way of making sure I didn't get spotted as I shifted the cameras around until they weren't watching the room that looked like the one I wanted.

Now that I had basically the whole place for myself, as apparently this hospital was utter shit at night, it seemed to only have a single doctor and nurse to run the place. Maybe this place just rarely sees visitors at night or maybe the place is mostly just a giant morgue instead of an actual hospital.

Looking around the computers, I eventually found something very nice on one of the doctors' computers, as apparently there were two doctors here. Fuck if I know where the other doctor is, but apparently he knows that the only doctor here was sleeping with one of the nurses.

Since I don't know any of the names of the nurses, fuck if I know it's the one at the front desk, but either way, when I went to confront the guy about this little tidbit and that I know who his wife was, apparently the only thing he feared more than **** was angering his wife.

So of course I used this information to **** the guy into giving me money. "Oh, and I've already emailed everything you sent to one another to my own computer, so if I don't get a hundred and fifty dollars per month, you know what'll happen."

I chose $150 a month because it was the cheapest considering the information, his salary as a doctor, and, of course, the fact his wife was apparently planning on running for office if the jokes between the two doctors were any indication.

My last stop on this floor at least leads me to some poor girl that, according to her sheet, was named "Heather Poe? Either you have a very famous ancestor or your parents are very weird. But be thankful for what you have—I mean, that you've met such a nice guy like me."

Slicing open my wrist I **** some of my blood into the girl's mouth and feel myself being drained of my energy or something equivalent, as this is the first time I've ever felt this tired since pulling back-to-back all-nighters to get my business degree.

Once the girl was done drinking from me, my wound quickly closed, and she even seemed to come back to life as she groaned awake. "Who... who are you?" Heather, the poor girl, asked in her delirious state.

"Don't worry," I said while gently pushing her back onto the bed while caressing her head. "Just someone passing by who managed to have what you needed."

Before she could even respond, I quickly dashed away and went back home for the night as I felt my legs dropping, arms dragging, and everything just wanting to sleep. At first I thought it was because the sun might have been coming up, but it hasn't even been three hours yet!

So with my body desiring sleep, I went to bed and slept as I found myself back in the world of my dreams, and unlike before, I found a broken rustic goblet in front of me on top of what looked like a fountain.

I quickly swipe the goblet from its perch and drink all the blood from it as quickly as I could, which results in the ground rumbling all around as the fountain begins spitting out blood as a blood moat quickly forms around me in a massive radius.

But the rumbling hasn't quite finished yet, as signs were quickly appearing in certain areas that looked like they were future building sites. What buildings? I honestly can't say, but from how limitless my chalice seems to be and a massive rusted-out '3', I can tell I'm supposed to use this.

"Five signs, three somethings from the goblet. I can see I can't do much with them." I said in my dream as I poured the goblet upon the sign labeled "TAVERN," and in its place quickly sprouted a lemonade sign with beer instead of lemonade.

Next was the "KNIGHTS" sign, and all I got was a lousy broken rusted sword stand that didn't even have the second piece of the stand or anything for it to be placed on, as it was just a stand on the ground near the fountain.

"What the fuck is even going on?" I wondered as I poured the last thing from the goblet, which quickly formed a zero with a line in the middle for some reason as whatever this "Occult" meant as the sign vanished and a book was now in my hands.

The title of the book (if it was even that) was called "Blood Magic," and no matter how hard I tried to open the book, the limit I found was that, besides the index, I could only go to one page, which was something called "Fortitude."

According to the book, Fortitude was a blood magic that would allow the vampire to create a shield around their body or an actual shield but would cost more blood than normal, but it also let me defend others instead of just myself.

"Well, this doesn't sound that hard." My past self said that I now wanted to punch the daylights out of my past self. As for what felt like hours, maybe even a day, I finally managed to cover parts of my body, which wasn't even that big, as I could only cover the size of my elbow to my hand.

But now that I finished all that, I was ready to wake up, but no such luck, so I thought I'd have to look more into the stuff I got.

Apparently the tavern allowed me to charm others and get them to do what I wanted along with DOMINATE, which allows me to take control over others so long as my will is greater or if they aren't mentally stable at the moment.

The sword, meanwhile, just changed my body and made it even better than before, or at least that's what the little Post-it note next to the broken sword seemed to say, as it just said, "Knight Buff. Good Stuff."

I just rolled my eyes over the text as I walked over to the remaining "Hunters Lodge" sign and just stared at it for a bit and then turned my head towards the "Merchant" sign and just sighed as I wondered what the heck these things might have been.

Taking a seat on the fountain for a bit, I wondered where the heck I was along with what was going on. Next thing I knew, however, I felt something pulling me down, and I woke up in my shoddy apartment room once more.

After a quick shower I looked at my reflection and saw that my body had become even more muscular than before; well, either that or more of my fat had vanished, leaving only muscle behind.

I look over my notebook and change my clothes into something darker and red so that all the blood I get from draining people won't get all over my clothes or cause me to worry about them possibly doing so.

Making my way downstairs, I check my mailbox and find a letter in there with the full amount I asked for from the guy, and I pocket the money and throw away the letter after making sure to hide it underneath some of the other junk mail.

Leaving the building, I make my way into the hospital again and quickly get the medicine and anything else I could sell for mass profit, but not before I "politely" ask a man just waiting around for his watch, and as he was such a nice man, he gave it to me and twenty bucks.

With these in hand, I put them in my pockets that seem to hold far more than possible so long as they're behind my back anyway, making me think I have some sort of inventory, but only when my back's covered in darkness.

Mad dashing towards the beach, I find that even though there have been reports of a ****, no one seems to really care, as it seems like the police just don't care about what the people see, as they just have a car parked somewhere, I hope.

Going down all the steps and a hallway, I finally reach the beach, and before anything happens, some random lady appears right in front of me.
