The Funzone

We entered a big building that had a sign with the name "Funzone" written on it, as i walked through the door i began to notice the aesthetic of this place - at the entrance there were two big windows and the sign with the name but they were made out of neon lights, green neon lights, the windows also was outlined by neon lights This place probably looks really cool at night i thought before i walked to the counter where Quincy asked a employee

"How much for 3 refills and one card?" They seemed to know each other because the employee looked happy to see Quincy, they probably met before since they come to this place often. The employee handed him a cool looking card and then Caleb, Matthew and Quincy took out their cards - they weren't the same, the new one that was handed to me had a green glow, i thought it was a simple card but it actually had more weight than i expected.

Apparently to play each game we had to use our special cards, each one had a certain amount of points and when we ran out of them we could refill with money - you can also upgrade your card if you play a lot of games and use a lot of points. It all looked really advanced and complex for an arcade, we basically had alien debit cards but it was so cool - my green card looked normal but i still liked the neon glow of it, although Caleb and Matthew had purple glowing cards and Quincy had a red glowing one, they were level 3 and 4 repectively - i didn't know how many points you needed for a level 3 card but then i saw that there were 5 levels of cards, the last one was gold and it looked pretty good.

I said to the guys jokingly "Hey, this place looks pretty cool... i'm sure that i'm going to come back here and maybe get a golden card" they bursted out laughing and i chuckled, after a good minute of their laughter Matthew said "Yo man, we have played here for 7 years, Quincy had that card since he was 10... i don't think you will ever reach level 5 but we'll like to see you try"

"Yeah sure, you'll see" i said and then we went to the main area where all of the arcade games were - it was a huge room with tons of arcade machines, there were a couple of tables at the side and the carpet floor had a cool design that glowed Even the fucking carpet glows, how amazing is this place? I thought - i was really impressed, i looked around a bit more but Quincy already went to play some games, Caleb went to order food and Matthew gave me a tour of the place - he showed me other minigames and i was surprised to see that there were more of these games than actual arcade machines. He showed me a big game that apparently no one can beat and also gave me some tips like, what games get you more points, the rules to play some games and even his list of what games he plays and in what order - he told me that there were multiple ways to play games but that it was best to find an order to play them so he had to organize himself.

I looked at Quincy and i noticed that he was picking his games meticulously, Matthew noticed me staring and said "Yep, he is a master at this... one day you will learn from him, but he is not actually the best" i looked at Matthew and i was so overwhelmed with so much information that i said to him "You know, i don't really care about all of this... i just wanna play some games" and then i went to an arcade machine to play whatever it had.

I played a lot, and when i say that i mean A LOT - i played like a dozen arcade games and then went to one of the tables to eat a snack with the guys, they compared the points that they got up to that moment and that's when i realized that i was doing really bad, it didn't matter to me though, i was having tons of fun so i enjoyed it even though i wasn't making that many points.

A cute girl approached us and said hi to Quincy, she said "Hello Q, how are you doing?... how many points you got?" He replied akwardly "Umm, yeah i'm doing good... you know how i always do tons of points" she giggled and then said to him "Well is great to see you here... i guess i will return to work, see you later" - she was an employee and looked really good with her uniform and Funzone cap, she smiled at us and then went to do some stuff, i looked at Quincy and i said "Oh... i see was going on" Matthew and Caleb chuckled and Quincy got red.

We didn't say anything about it but we all knew what was going in and quickly returned to play more games - we spent the entire day just playing but after about 20 games i ran out of points, i looked at them play for a while but i got bored and then i noticed that it was getting late. I said goodbye to them and since i didn't make that many points i went home without a prize - it still was really fun but i had to go home because we had school tomorrow.

I was surprised that they kept playing until it was night, i left the building and saw that the boulevard looked so much cooler at night. I walked to the bus stop from before but i noticed that next to me there were tons of lights - it was the red light district, it looked really bright and i saw that a lot of people were entering and leaving the many brothels on the street.

I took the bus back home and i ran to my house because i knew it was late, i opened the entrance door and there she was - my mom was waiting for me in the living room with a concerned look, she had her phone in hand and when i opened the door she turned her attention to me, she looked surprise and then said "Oh honey, you finally came back... i was getting worried but you arrived just in time, i was going to call you but now you are here... how was your day" i then explained her how my day went, i told her about the Funzone but i tried not mentioning the red light district.

I went to my bedroom and changed my clothes before i went to bed, as i laid down i looked at my phone and noticed that i had a few missed calls from Scarlet, she texted me aswell but i didn't see because i turned off my phone in the arcade - she asked if i was available a few hours ago but i decided to ignore it and go to sleep.
