Chapter 18 by taringApok taringApok

Public Life

The Extra-curriculars of an Adult Baby

Before the curse, cruising in her convertible, the world of No-Name City was Gina's oyester, bars, clubs, movie theaters, mall crawls, raves and parties.

Now her regular social calendar included reading time at the library, "playing" at the children's park, and then going to certain homes for "playdates" where her mother could catch up with her friends and Gina would be parked in her stroller in front of a TV watching whatever baby crap the actual children were watching.

Susan still took her through the mall, Gina was still the center of attention, but for all the wrong reasons, getting pushed along in her stroller, bib still on, diaper bag on full display. She was helpless to stop the looks, waves, babytalk that random strangers would say as they pinched her cheeks.

Then there was the "Gina-sitting", either at home under Tom's neglectful eye, or more commonly, past victims would volunteer to watch Gina on the cheap, there are so many videos of "Gaa-Gaa Gina" all over social media. If Gina wasn't helpless, it would have been enough to take her own life, but now the sharpest thing she grab are a set of big chunky plastic keys!
