The City of Erosia

You are in the outer territories of Erosia. Fading ancient stone paths are beset on both sides with the fragrant wild love-poppies, little red flowers with suggestive-looking petals, whose aphrodisiac extract is the recreational **** of choice for the sexually liberated people of the realm.

The valley in which the lonely city-state resides is a living paradise most of the time. The air is warm at all times of the year, but a calm and constant breeze brings in wet air from the sea in tandem with a cold river from the Mountains On High, moistening the land west of the mountain range and making it perfectly fertile. Melons, mushrooms, cherries, fish, dairy, eggs, and any other food one might desire - not to mention mutton - keep the inhabitants fat and happy, so long as they do not venture too far away from the guarded walls.

As you approach the city proper, the grand walls envelop your field of vision. The architecture is as old as time and cracked with age, but stands impenetrably strong on its bedrock base. Tall, thick towers of pink granite topped with purple domes guard the urban border, and through the ancient gateway you see many more buildings with their domed roofs finished off with button-shaped vents and chimneys. The painted walls of buildings on the bustling main streets are mostly shops with cheap lodgings and places of miscellaneous service mixed in here and there.

Contrary to worldwide rumors, the people of the city do not, in fact, run around naked having endless sex all day with anything that moves, but are surprisingly enough polite and friendly people like any other, to each one his or her own preferences, fears, capabilities, limitations, joys, tragedies, vices and virtues. That said, you'd be hard-pressed to find an adult virgin on any given one of the many lively streets.

The people are of many colors and shapes, both natural and creature, and Jan Doercen the human adventurer from the Danelands makes no waves in the vibrant crowds.
