The Castaways.

Jane Connors was the captain's granddaughter, and has always aspired to join the navy. She was within two months of achieving that goal when her grandmother offered to take her on a celebratory 5 week cruise to Hawaii, and she accepted. She was one of the students picked up from the sea, following the disaster, and saved two of the others from the surf. She has trained intensively in wilderness survival for the pacific islands, and will be an asset both as a hunter and identifier of edible and medicinal native plants. She is 19 years old and graduated from Lawndale High last year, so she doesn't know most of the others very well.

Kelly Saunders had a bright future ahead of her in the field of genetics, except for one major problem: she is bisexual and polyamrous. She is in a mutually understood three way relationship with Jessy and Simon who are exclusive to her and each other. When not surviving on an uncharted island she likes to read science fiction and play video games. She is ethnically 'black', has brown hair and brown eyes, and very light brown skin from spending all her time indoors. She is a second generation British immigrant, and has taken two summers in England with her grandparents: speaking with a refined British accent. She is 18 years old.

Jessy 'Justice' Jacquard has the exact same problem as Kelly, naturally, and is a wiz at computer programming. She already has made herself a comfortable living as a video game designer having created several titles for the android platform that bring in more than enough money to feed her miniatures war-gaming habit. She also is a member of Mensa and something of an arrogant prat: being more intelligent than most other people and knowing it. She considers herself very lucky to have met two wonderful partners so young and would face pain and **** for either of them: in fact she just did a few minutes ago, towing one of them through the water to the lifeboat. Jessy is a classic 'ginger' with bright orange hair, freckles all over her body, and green eyes: as you might expect her heritage is almost exclusively Irish, except along her paternal line where there is a Frenchman about 3 generations back and her maternal grandfather who was Norwegian. She is 18 years old and has perky C-cup breasts.

Simon A. Silver has no idea how he got so lucky to have TWO girls madly in love with him and wanting to have a permanent triad with him, but he is NOT going to complain! (Actually he has some idea: Kelly was in his creative writing class freshman year and they just hit it off: Jessy he met at the local gaming store and had four month 'feud' with because she played elves and he played orcs, till one day she grabbed his collar and kissed him. He didn't find out until a month later that they had been dating each other since middle school.) Simon is a fantasy and history buff, and has been a member of the 'Society For Creative Anachronism' since before he was born. He also ran the gaming club at Lawndale High, and is a research writer: all this combines to give him a selection of practical survival skills from building fires with nothing but some wood and a shoelace to training in knife fighting. However while he has a great deal of intellectual savvy he has neglected his physical fitness and is somewhat soggy around the midsection and has low endurance and muscle power. He turned 19 the day before the start of the cruise.

Hope Isis Grey is a robotics engineering enthusiast, and before this little hiccup in her life plan was looking forward to attending M.I.T. this fall. She is into science fiction, especially 'Star Trek', and has an irrational crush on 'Lieutenant Commander Data' from the 'Next Generation' series. She in point of fact has a life size cardboard cutout of him in her room at home which she sometimes pretends is her boyfriend. No one knows about that but her though. At school she has always been the shy girl in the corner, and has never had a real boyfriend or much of a social life. She is 18 years old and a virgin.

Jona D. Williams is into higher mathematics, and is a literal 'cunning linguist' already having mastered English, Chinese, Spanish, and Russian: as well as 'tourist' fluency in seven other languages, including Japanese and Hawaiian. He can pick up the basics of almost any language he is exposed to after listening to it for about three hours, and adroit enough to communicate conversationally within 3 days. While companies and universities from across the world have been pounding down his door trying to hire or enroll him for the past four weeks since graduation, Jona has a secret, he is neurotically obsessed with Hope. Terminally shy around women he is attracted to Jona has been basically stalking Hope since freshman year, having 'fallen in love' the first time he laid eyes on her. She is unaware of his attentions, and it drives him alternately to shaking fury and deep melancholy. Perhaps the island will be his chance to make her see him: or perhaps the darker side of his obsession will come to the fore. Jona is 18 years old, wears glasses for distance vision, is ethically 'Caucasian', and has sandy brown hair and blue eyes.

Bella 'Buster' Swanson is, in no particular order: an aggressive and outspoken feminist, a black belt in Judo, 5'5" tall, brown haired and brown eyed, Caucasian, a rabid opponent of the entire vampire romance genre, good at roller derby, 18 years old, in a casual relationship with James, and two weeks pregnant. Her nickname 'buster' stems from an incident sophomore year where a member of the school's hockey team tried to pin her against a locker and kiss her, whereupon she kneed him so hard in the balls that he got a testicular torsion and had to have surgery. This earned her the nickname 'Ball Buster' which was eventually shortened to 'Buster'. Bella does not know she is pregnant and would not consider it a problem, abortions are legal and readily available in Hawaii, except she is not bound for Hawaii any more, IS SHE? She has chalked up the morning sickness thus far to being on a ship for the first time: and vowed to never go on a cruise again. As her situation slowly dawns on her there are going to be a lot of things she will reevaluate: starting with James's suitability as a father and, god help her, husband. Maybe he will rise to the occasion, maybe not: only time will tell.

James Charles Westerly thinks of himself as a rock star, or at least an aspiring rock star, and can shred guitar like no one else in school. Problem with that is that he is the big fish in a small pond, and unless he really busts his ass will never amount to more than that. He is in a casual relationship with Bella because they both have the same taste in food, music, and movies: and are both 18 and horny as hell. They don't consider each other boyfriend and girlfriend, but rather 'Best Friends With Benefits', but this is going to change dramatically when they realize Bella is knocked up. James is from a minster's household and as they say "You can take the boy out of the church but you can't take the church out of the boy." Though he is in a rebellious phase in his life at heart James is a God fearing 'Son of the Faith' and he will want to 'Do the right thing' and marry Bella. Problem is he has no skills that would make him a decent partner in a survival situation, and precious few back stateside. Maybe he will acquire some on the island: maybe this sojourn in a simultaneous paradise and hell will be exactly the kick to the jimmies he needs to finally grow up and be a man about his responsibilities and the unrealistic nature of his aspirations as a rock star: then again, maybe not: we will find out.

Wendy Q. M. 'Sensually' Smith is the lead singer of James's band and unlike her associate SHE has real talent. The problem is that while she has the voice of a mixed angel and succubus she doesn't have the LOOKS to match, and in the modern recording industry a woman has to have the look more than the voice. Wendy is a 'Plane Jane', 5'7", stick straight mousy brown hair, a beak of a nose, thin lips, and boring brown eyes: she isn't actually un-attractive, but neither is she fetching, and that is the bare minimum for a female singer in this day and age. She also has another problem, she has the hugest crush on James, and he treats her the exact opposite of how she wishes he would, with kindness, brotherhood, and professional courtesy. She WANTS him to be after her like a God of Rock with a hot groupie, but James would never mess up the band dynamic with an in-house relationship. Will her passion for her band mate find expression on the island, or is theirs an affair doomed to die unrequited? More to the point, will Wendy unleash her darker side when she finds out that Bella is carrying the child of the man she wants for herself, or will that be the straw that breaks the back of this obsession and allows her to move on?

Chuck L. Rosenberg was the varsity captain of the Lawndale Hydras, all four teams of them. He is from a rich family that owned or had a major stake in a good third of the businesses in Lawndale but tries to keep that from going to his head. He has never met a sport he wasn't good at, being agile as a cat, brave as a lion, cunning as a tiger, strong as an ox, and tough as a bear. (Ok, those are grandiose exaggerations, but he IS an exceptional physical specimen in all those areas, and graduated top 10% of his class without the school jiggering a single test.) Back in Lawndale he spent his free time exercising while listening to classical music and audio books of the great literary classics, including 'Le Miserables' in the original french. He was raised trilingual, English, French, and German, and has since picked up Japanese and Latin, though he struggles with the two 'new' languages. Though he is exceptional he is not without his flaws the three greatest of which are aggressiveness, arrogance, and an addictive personality. Aggressiveness he thus far has channeled constructively, leading his teams to victory for most of his life, but without a ready supply of opponents to provide challenges to defeat this vice may show it's true colors. Arrogance he is aware of and fights ruthlessly, but it still gets the best of him more often than he would like, leading him to foolish and rash decisions.

It is his propensity to addiction that is his true nemesis however. When Chuck was 12 he started abusing prescription ****, and at 15 added **** to the list. That summer his father found out and beat him to within an inch of his life, then quietly put him into rehab. It worked, but Chuck just substituted one addiction for another, becoming instead of a substance abuser a sex and exercise junky. Through most of high school he had four or five girlfriends at once, and got quite the rep as a womanizer. The last four months of school and two weeks before the cruise things went smooth for him because he became a bit more honest and told all four of his girlfriends at the time about each other and three of them were actually fine with it. However just before and during the cruise all of them broke up with him because they were going to college in different states and theirs had been a mostly physical relationship. During the cruise this was OK, there were a TON of women his age on board who were horny and willing to have casual sex, but things will be different on the island...

Ronny M. H. Krieg is not a nice person. He was the one that Bella had to knee in the balls 3 years ago and his temperament has not improved since. While he has been more circumspect in his behavior towards women since his sojourn at Lawndale General he is still the kind of guy who feels that it is his right to push himself on women and that "No." just means 'I need more convincing.' Ronny has never **** a woman, YET, but he is the kind of guy who WOULD, especially if she went most of the way and then changed her mind. If Ronny has a saving grace it is that he is a hunter and survivalist of the first order, he knows more about how to kill a boar with nothing but a survival knife and live than any of the other castaways except Jane and has spent most of the cruise either using his fraudulently acquired over 21 ID to buy drinks for girls and get them drunk enough to sleep with him or reading books on pacific island flora and fauna while sunbathing on the 'nudity allowed' deck of the ship. He is 19 years old+ and has an impressive ten inch long two inch wide cock, which is part of the source of his delusion that he is God's Gift to Women.

Gordon Terrell McKinney is the son of Michael James McKinney and his wife Jodie Abigail McKinney. He is ethically 'black', wears his hair in cornrows for more efficient padding of his helmets and to make it hard to grab in a fight, has black hair, brown eyes, is 6'2" and has tight set square teeth. He was bound for Notri Dame on a double full ride sports and academic scholarship after the cruise was over, but now finds himself in a distinctly uncomfortable position of being stranded with, to use his own words, "A whole bunch of crackers." Never mind that one of the crew members and one of the teachers share his ethnicity, as does one of the students, to him they don't count because they are:
A: adults. (He still does not think of himself as one.)
or B: dating two white people.

If one were feeling uncharitable one might say that Gordon was a racist: he certainly feels superior to most non-blacks, but being that he is the only member of the Hydras who can match the team captain stride for stride and tackle for tackle that is not entirely unjustified, and he feels superior to most black people too. However the truth is that Gordon is really just overly sensitized to race issues from growing up black in a majority white town that was in the process of ethnically diversifying. From a young age he was constantly reminded to "be a Credit to your Race" and it has given him a too deeply grounded racial identity, while his physical and mental exceptionalism has led him to think that his race must, like him, be exceptional. Hopefully his sojourn on the island will give him a chance to unlearn old falsehoods and develop a more egalitarian mindset, but only time will tell.

Mrs Melissa V. Caldwell is the oldest member of the castaways, 28 and windowed. When her husband was recalled to active duty in Afghanistan two years ago she prayed nightly for his safe return, but a month later she was visited by a smartly dressed lieutenant and informed that Kyle had been caught in an Al-Quida ambush. The pain is less raw now than it was even just six months ago, but she is still in deep mourning, dressed all in black and with her long black hair tied up under a snood. Will the island be the chance for her to finish mourning and move on, or will the loss of her support network push her to suicide? Mrs Caldwell is a homeroom teacher at Lawndale High, and has had Simon, Jane, Ronny, Chuck, Hope Wendy, and Jona in her homeroom at various times: including one semester having Jona and Hope at the same time, during which she noticed Jona's obsession.

Miss Shailene Rhonda Kassab is young for an accredited high school teacher, only 21, but that still puts her in the enviable position of being allowed to drink. She doesn't do much of that though, having come from a strict Muslim household where intoxicants of any sort were discouraged and **** in particular was forbidden. She has since renounced Islam and in point of fact religion of any kind, but drunkenness still repulses her. Shailene is ethnically half Arabian and half African. Her father and mother were immigrants from Egypt and Ethiopia who met at their mosque and fell in love. Shailene rejected Islam when her father tried to **** her into an arranged marriage back in Egypt right out of High School, and she has not spoken to her parents in three years. Miss Kassab's subject in school is Arabic. She is a 5'9", 36"D, 27", 35" smoking hot pistol who models for catalogs on the side: in fact that was how she put herself through school. She is also still a virgin.

Lieutenant Shauna Jefferson is the child of a broken home. Her father was arrested on a trumped up **** possession charge when she was three and her mother turned to prostitution to feed her and her baby brother. This eventually led to Shauna being molested by her mother's pimp and she and her brother being placed into the foster system, where she was molested several more times. Yet from that tragedy has emerged a woman of whipcord and steel, an avenging angel of power and fury who will do whatever she can to protect other children from the same horrible fate. She joined the crew of the SS Ragamuffin as part of an underground smuggling ring, taking child sex workers from Singapore and Hong-Kong and bringing them to the states where at least they have a chance. The captain never knew, but after watching her sacrifice her self so the last two lifeboats could make it safely away Shauna likes to think she would have helped. Miss Jefferson is 25, has dark skin and hair, brown eyes, and D cup breasts. She also is almost a-sexual, trusting no one but herself in any kind of sexual situation, and that infrequently. Can the tranquility of the island bring peace to her wounded soul, or will the clamor of survival and keeping order keep her from coming to terms with her trauma and learning to love and trust again?

A.B.S. Kaname Madoka is a Japanese woman who immigrated to the untied states at 18 chasing the dream of becoming an actress. How she wound up working on a private cruise ship is a long, involved, and sexually charged tale which she might tell you one day if you can convince her to open up to you. Now 23, the years have been kind to Madoka's features, the clean air and salt water of shipboard life agreeing with her, and the long sun exposure only giving her a beautiful golden complexion. Madoka is not one to dwell on the past, trying as much as she can to live in the endless 'NOW' of wolf thought. This does not mean she is incapable of making plans or learning from her mistakes, but as far as possible she tries to exist in the moment, and leave planing and worry to others.
