The Calm Before The Storm

You decided that whipped cream and ice cubes would be a welcome addition to your impending threesome, so Phoebe has made a dash to the shops to fetch them, along with a couple of other mystery things she said she wanted. You didn't even have to command her, she is strangely eager to make tonight go perfectly for you. The downside is that you are left alone with the man you just stole her from. For a while, the silence feels deafening and time seems to grind to a halt. Then Stephen speaks.

"Not what you expected is she?"

His tone is quietly amused but not mocking or unfriendly. Almost an olive branch he should never have been expected to extend.

"No, she is a remarkable woman" you tell him before another wave of guilt hits you. Why did she have to have a husband and why did he have to be so bloody nice? "Look, I'm so sorry about all of this. If I knew she was married I would have chosen someone else"

"It's okay, I'd already lost her, emotionally anyway" he sighs "This way at least I get to be with someone I can actually make happy, even if it's only thanks to a magical curse. I would have preferred a brunette, but of course Phoebe gets to choose"

"Has she always been like that?" you ask, wanting to understand exactly what you have let yourself in for here.

"Always" he chuckles "I call her Hurricane Phoebe. She is a real **** of nature, a whirlwind of energy and she always gets what she wants. i fear you may have difficulty controlling her even with the curse. I certainly couldn't. I'm just too boring and pedestrian for her"

That worries you a little, because you are also quite boring and pedestrian yourself. Part of the reason you chose Phoebe was because you thought she would be too, but this could be a real challenge. Of course, you could use the curse to reign her in a bit, but you genuinely like Phoebe a lot so far, and hate the idea of altering her personality and changing who she truly is. You do have to ask Stephen a question about her that concerns you slightly though, since he is being so open.

"Do you think she likes me as much as she seems to, or am I being played?"

"Oh, she definitely likes you" Stephen seems quite convinced "You have discovered something incredibly exciting and brought it to her. She loves that. She used to look at me a little in the way she looks at you now, before her own accomplishments began to overshadow mine and I wasn't so awe inspiring to her. Word of warning though, just because she is fond of you, it doesn't mean she won't try and completely take charge of all this curse business and push you into the passenger seat"

You had already kind of figured that, but it is helpful to have it confirmed by someone who really knows her. You have plenty more questions about Phoebe but before you can ask any of them, speak of the devil, the doorbell goes.

"I'll get that" you tell Stephen, eager to find out just what treats Phoebe has returned from the store with, but when you open it, someone else is on the other side.

"Hi, I'm Eliza, are you Stephen?" she asks.

"No" you say, trying not to let your excitement on seeing her show "I'll just get him for you"
