Welcome to the Affection Multiplier App. To maintain karmic balance, you have been gifted with this app to help you get back on your feet. The gift of this app is to help you build relations with people five times quicker, and helps you keep track of your relationships’ progress through an intuitive scoring system.

It is individually tailored to each and every user's circumstances, and so some things will differ from person to person. Normally, as you deepen your relationships with love interests, the higher the relationship score, the more points you get, and you use these points to unlock perks that benefit you in life and in furthering your relationships. Given your... unique circumstances, however, we have decided to grant you a unique mechanic in addition to that perk system.

Political Power:

The measure of how much power you wield and can influence in your local nation, it will directly affect the livelihoods of the people and the country's stability depending on how you spend it. You can use it to influence people's support for your party, enact policy changes and even purchase national perks.

It slowly and gradually regenerates when you spend it, but there is an upper limit to how much political power you can own at any one time. By growing more powerful and influential, however, that limit can be increased as well, and is directly affected by your relationship with others as well.

Be wary though; certain circumstances will occur that cost you political power whether you like it or not, and often they're beyond your control. As such, be very austere and prudent in how you exercise your power; no power means no actions can be taken.

"I think it might be a load of bull," She muttered, "But I might as well examine it further."

With that, she began to browse the Affection Multiplier's different mechanics.

Aviel widened her eyes in surprise; she didn't think it'd be possible for the app to actually show her bank balance, moreso at the number of zeros she saw.

I knew my family was rich, but I didn't think we're that rich, She thought, But... I'm actually glad for this. Means I won't have to worry for a while if I sparingly use it. And apparently Wakeyo already has a score of 80. Curious. Amos on the other hand... Honestly, I'm not thinking of pursuing a relationship with him, or anyone right now.

Aviel sighed.

But I can't go home, and... oh God, what will I do now?

Aviel took a deep breath.

Okay, okay, forget about the app for now. First off, I need to get myself a solid position, She thought, I don't want to believe it, but if abba's really dead, I'm in deep trouble; the hospital project may be cancelled due to political moves, so I need to negotiate with the Liberian government for that. Next, I need to get an actual position in the cabinet and secure some sort of permanent residency in Liberia, or I'll be evicted. I know the government's not the stellar standard of impeccable, but using legal means rather than illegal means goes a long way. Finally, I need allies, and that's where my (hopefully) full-time employment in the cabinet comes into play.

"Looks like I've got my work cut out for me," Aviel muttered to herself.

Wakeyo then entered the room they were staying in, and he looked incredibly saddened, his throat rumbling with words he failed to speak.

A pit formed in Aviel's gut, her worst fears coming true.

"Your abba's dead," Said Wakeyo, "I've confirmed with my contacts; the Knesset's a pile of rubble."

Once again, Aviel was almost ready to faint, and the ground shattered beneath her feet.
