Sweep the camp

“Alright girls.” Myada says after a few minutes. “You’ve had five minutes rest. Time to get that sinkhole secured. After that I want a sweep of this entire camp. Take down any stragglers and help out any survivors.”

The helicopters supported the troops on their way to the sinkhole but they didn’t need to. The place was abandoned. The Apache’s did fire in a few missiles to try and collapse any tunnels in case the might try and come back later.

During the sweep they found no more towerlings, but did discover some roses that had managed to hide or hold out, one of them being Lizette.

All of the survivors were brought to the armory where Catherine informed Myada about the infection.

“So what you’re saying is it’s possible our own soldiers end up turning on us?” Myada asks.

“Not so much against us.” Catherine explains. “It’s more like they get a yearning to join the towerlings and become their breeders.”

“Right. So it’s more like a bio-chemically induced insubordination.” Myada continues. “And we can see this by their pink hair.”

Catherine nods.

“Any chance it can be cured?” Myada asks.

“I believe there is,” Catherine explains. “However I would need a lab, computers and samples.”

Myada looks around and says, “Well there sure are a lot of towerling samples lying around. You should be able to find more than enough substances that carry this ‘infection’. Once we find doctor Pario I’ll have you assigned to her and the TRT.

“Ma’am.” A person behind the commander says.

Myada turns around and sees Lizette.

“Lizette.” Myada says. “Good to see they didn’t get you. Any word on your sister?”

“Sorry, ma’am. Melissa was captured by the towerlings. I tried to save her but there were too many.” Lizette says. She then hands over the bad and laptops and says, “She did ask me to bring this to you. This should be all of our most important data.”

Myada looks at the items, then hands them over to Catherine.

“Congradulations, Catherine.” Myada says. “You are now the most qualified doctor on base. I know it likely isn't your specialty, but please take a look over this information.”

After Catherine takes the data, Myada calls in Caroline and orders her to take Catherine to the back gate. A transport will be waiting to take them both so she can take Caroline to a more secure location.

When the two women arrive at the back gate they don’t just see a transport, but dozens. Each of them carrying nearly twice a dozen troops. Caroline has never seen so many Roses in one place. On top of that there are also a couple of Abrams tanks, APC’s and humvee’s with mounted machine guns.

“Oh my god.” Caroline whispers. “They’re going to perform an ****.”
