So for this story I decided that Jessie's Mana Pool would increase as soon as he hit 0. I also decided to let it increase by 10%. This ended with my brain coming up with a way to absolutely break this function. Which led me to actively creating an excel sheet to keep track of how much mana Jessie has. I've decided that whatever mana limit he ends up at the end of this chapter, that's it, because it's already crazy.

The figure gave Jessie the rod and promptly disappeared. Jessie wondered if the figure had more power than the rod- it would make sense, seeing as he seemed to be fine with leaving it with just about anyone, add that to the fact that the rod always came back to him and Jessie was left with the feeling that this guy probably created the rod, and was probably old, really old, possibly even immortal.

"So what should I do with you.." Jessie mumbled to himself.

"Well, first order of business. I don't want to die. Give me a spell that allows me to see my mana pool, and any other useful information." Jessie said, waving the rod a little.

Jessie didn't really feel anything happen, except maybe a small burst of hunger, even though he didn't feel fatigued. He only realized the spell worked when he looked in front of himself and saw the status display he had been thinking of, like a video game.

Information - Self: Mana Cost 1 MP, Information - Self brings up a GUI with all useful information on the caster, this GUI is visible only to the caster, and can either be hidden or dispelled entirely. The hide option will hide the GUI from view, but only updates information on a 10 minute cycle. Dispel will remove the GUI entirely, but it must be recast to be viewed again, recasting will update the GUI.

Jessie wasn't sure if health could be brought up, but an MP of 60 seemed low, since it meant he could only safely create one spell per day.

'Look's like I'll have to work on that.' Jessie thought to himself.

Jessie stopped after his MP hit 0. He didn't want to find out what expending HP was like, and he only did this so his MP could go up. So he did the only thing he could, he waited 10 minutes for his information to update. While he waited, he found he could hide his spell list, he did so, since he didn't plan on creating any new spells yet.

Jessie learned a little more about how his mana worked. It seemed to go up by around 10% every time he emptied it, but his recovery rate hadn't gone up at all. It seemed to go up around 1 mana per minute. He needed a way to improve his recovery rate, he needed to create a new spell.

The next forty minutes were agonizingly slow. He wanted to keep improving his mana, but ten minutes in between each upgrade was too much all things considered. So he waited. He jumped up as soon as his watch went off, grabbing the Rod and beginning to wave it.

"Give me something to help me increase my mana pool faster." He spoke, this time he thought he could feel it. Maybe it was because Create Spell took his mana down to zero, or maybe he was just getting used to doing magic now, but he felt the tug as Create Spell worked its magic.

Jessies eyes widened. The cost was large, nearly his entire pool of magic, but it was worth it, considering he could set this up to run passively for hours, days, weeks, or however long he wanted. This one spell would mean he would have the Mana necessary to do whatever he wanted in the future.

Jessie waited the hour and fifty minutes it took for him to be able to cast the spell and have mana left over.

Macro: Cast Information - Self, Dispel Information - Self, Repeat until MP = 0, Wait One Minute, Repeat.

Jessie laughed as the macro started.

'I'll come back to this later.' Jessie thought.

He forgot about it until the next morning (roughly 10 hours later).

Jessie woke up the next morning, and got out of bed. On his way to the kitchen, he nearly tripped over the Rod.

"Oh fuck that wasn't a dream." Jessie said, shaking himself awake.

That was when he felt like something was wrong. He looked around but couldn't find anything, that is, until he noticed the blinking bar at the edge of his eyesight. It took a few minutes, but he remembered.

"Fuck I left it on!" Jessie shouted.

"Dispel Macro, Dispel Macro!" Jessie's heart was beating at a mile a minute, he had just slept through an automatic spell that could've killed him if he had done it wrong. Jessie took a moment to breathe before casting Information - Self.
