Chapter 6 by Kougyoku Kougyoku

anything happens on the way home?

Sure does

The drive home is made longer with the thoughts of monster girls. It didn't help that your boss was nearly banging his elven princess as you made your way out the door, a low, sensual moan escaping her lips as you departed.

You nearly make it home, wondering which girl you'd be paired with before you blow through a red light straight in front of a cop. The whir of the car's siren and flashing red/blue lights immediately snaps you out of your reverie and into the here and now.

You pull over to the side of the road and so does the cop. For a few minutes, nothing happens while the cop runs your plates. Nothing out of the ordinary there, the cop exits his car and strolls over to your window. You roll down your window a bit, and bid the officer good evening. "Papers, please." The cop says without hesitation.

You open your glove box, and pull out your paperwork before reaching for your wallet and giving him your license. "Thank you sir, please wait here." The cop says in return as he goes back to his car. More time passes as anxiety and worry grip you. He's probably writing you a ticket as you sit there and stew about what you did.

Finally, the cop returns with a clipboard in his hands. "You know, I really should write you a ticket for running that red light. But you're lucky ain't nobody else around when you did and I got a soft spot for government employees like ourselves. I know we don't make a hell of a lot of money. Tell you what. If you can make me laugh, I'll let you off with a warning. You got one joke, so make it clean and make it good." He says as he hands you back your license and paperwork. You place them on your passenger seat and think for a moment.

"Well, as you must already know, I work for the Department of Redundancy Department." The cop nods as you talk. "And anything worth doing is worth doing twice. Since I haven't run a red light twice, it must not be worth doing."

The cop guffaws as you say so as a matter of factly. "Bwa ha hahaha." The cop finally comes down from his guttural laugh. "That's a good one. They'll get a kick of that one back at the station. And you're right. Running a red light ain't worth it, even if there's nobody around like today. So I'll keep my word. You're free to go, and don't run any more red lights. Drive safe now."

"Thanks officer. You too." You carefully check and merge back into traffic, a nervous shaking mess as you finally park your car at your apartment.

at the apartment...
