Chapter 298

What Are You Doing?
Summoning
I fly up to one of the floating islands. I land and walk to the center of the island. I need to Summon a creature, both for the quest and to help fight. But what one should I call? A Fae or a Spirit? I know a bit about Fae, but not too much. I do know they're mischievous though. Maybe a Spirit would be better then? Yeah, let's Call a Spirit first, then I'll think about a Fae. I think before reaching out. I cast Call Spirit and a magic circle appears. Wind starts to blow from it and a bright ball of light appears in the center. Despite being bright, it doesn't hurt my eyes. I see the ball of light change shape. It grows into the shape of a horse and rider. The light fades and I see both the horse and rider are wearing a heavy suit of dark metal. The horse is dark brown and has piercing red eyes. The rider looks like a man, but it's hard to say with their bulky armor. One thing I can say for certain is that they have no head. In one hand is a large rusty sword, and in the other is their head. They're holding it by a handle, attached to their armored helmet.
"Why do you call." They say, their voice sounds etherical and it's hard to determine if the head or body said it.
"I'm looking for a warrior." I say, hoping that they consider themself as a warrior.
"Why do you seek warriors?"
"I need their help. I'm fighting against the Demon God and his Devils." I say and the Spirit remains silent. They don't move or speak for a minute.
"What do you offer as payment?" They ask me, causing m to flinch. I didn't think about that. What should I offer? I don't even know what Spirits would like.
"What would you want?"
"The corpse of a Devil." They reply and I look at them confused.
"Why do you want their corpse?" I ask and they raise their head.
"The body on my steed is not mine. I control it with magic. But it derives its strength from the strength of who they were. If I had a Devil's body I'd be stronger." They say and I nod. I Observe them while thinking of my answer.
Headless Horseman Lvl 80, Class: Spirit, Title: Dullahan, RP: 70, Hearts: 0, Weak: None
HP: 7500/7500 MP: 4500/4500
I sigh after seeing its level.
"Okay, you have a deal." I say and they nod.
"Summon me anytime you fight the Devils. Once the Demon God is dead, I'll collect my payment." They say before sinking back into the circle. As soon as they disappear I get a new pop-up.
Contract Complete!
You may now Summon the Spirit: Headless Horsman whenever you fight against any Devils or the Demon God. Once the Demon God has been slain the contract will end and you will have to pay the Spirit one Devil's Corpse. If you don't have a corpse, you will have to give the spirit yours.
My corpse!? Damn, I need to be careful then. I think before reaching out again. I cast Call Fae and the same circle appears. This time it's red instead of green. The ball of light appears and takes a humanoid figure. The light fades and a woman stands in the circle. They wear a blue dress that hugs their curves. It flows down to the grass where it turns into water. She's around five feet tall, just a foot shorter than me. Her eyes are a deep blue and her hair is a flowing stream of water. It looks like she has a small waterfall from her head. The water around the bottom is clear, but I can't see her head under the water. I Observe her as she looks around.
????? Lvl 75, Class: Fae, Title: Lady Of The Lake, RP: 38, Hearts: 0, Weak: Thunder
HP: 5000/5000 MP: 6500/6500
"We're alone?" She asks, sounding a little surprised.
"Yeah, why?" I ask back and she shrugs.
"Most people only Call Fae like this if they have some guards. Most Fae will just attack the summoners." She replies and I nod.
"I'm stronger than I look." I say and she looks at me with a mischievous smile. "Anyway, I'd like to make a contract with you." I continue and she nods.
"What is it you want? And remember, the more you get, the more you owe me." She says and I nod.
"I'd like your help fighting the Demon God, and his Devils." I say and she gasps.
"You want help fighting a God?" She asks and I nod. I notice she casts a spell thanks to my Mana Sense. I sense something getting shot at me from behind. I do the splits again, on reflex, and cast Hydra. I see a spear of water shoot past my head as my Hydra heads surround her. They go to her sides and above her.
"I did say I'm stronger than I look." I say while standing up. She just looks at the Hydra heads in both shock and fear. "Now what do you say you don't cast any more spells while we talk, okay?" I say and she nods. I draw the heads back and she sighs.
"You want me to help fight the Devils and their God, correct?" She asks after a moment.
"Yes." I reply and she thinks it over.
"Okay, on three conditions. The first is that you, nor any of your people don't attempt to learn my true name. The second is that you won't attack or harm me. And finally, I'd like to reside in your ocean for the duration of our contract." She says and I nod.
"Okay, but you have to agree to not harm anyone here either. And that you won't mess with them" I say and she nods. We shake hands and I get another pop-up.
Contract Complete!
You may now Summon the Fae: Lady Of The Lake whenever you fight against any Devils or the Demon God. Once the Demon God has been slain the contract will end. During the duration of the Contract, she will live in your Domains ocean.
"Could you carry me to your ocean? I can't fly." She says and I sigh.
"Wait, how'd you know I had an ocean from up here? You can't see it from where your standing." I ask and she smiles.
"As a Lady Of The Lake, I'm connected to water. I can sense any sources of it without thinking. The moment you summoned me I knew you had an ocean here." She replies and I nod. I pick her up and fly to the ocean. I set her down on the beach and she looks at the ocean.
"You're not going to do anything to the land here, are you?" I ask a little worried.
"No, It's just relaxing for me to be in the water. Similar to how Ice Dragons prefer to live in an icy waste." She says before jumping in the water. She disappears under the surface of the water and I sigh.
Now What?
