Stormy Cabin Night

Hours had come and gone as the teens stayed locked down inside the cabin while the powerful storm raged outside. The group was growing worried about Zack and Ashley's whereabouts. The group had all hunkered down in the den, some flicking through their phones and others making the briefest of conversations, but mainly waiting in silence. Heather had attempted to call the ranger station, unfortunately, the storm was knocking out all phone service. Gavin assumed that more than likely a tree branch fell and cut the line, meaning they were on their own until the storm passed.

As the minutes continued to tick and sun-faded away no one seemed to be more afraid than Brandon, the jock hadn't left his post by the window, silently urging the pair to show up to no avail. It wasn't until a rather bored Kurt flicked back on the television that Brandon angrily stormed out the cabin door, collapsing into a patio sofa with his arms crossed. "He's a little tense, huh?" Kurt muttered while peering to Victoria who gave a short shrug,

"Ashley always said he had a hard time when things weren't in his control, he probably hates feeling so helpless like the rest of us," Victoria explained in a sullen tone, "I should have made Ash come with us today instead of giving her and Zack all that space,"

"Can't blame yourself, none of us knew this was gonna happen," Kurt said in a comforting tone as he put an arm around the blonde girl, pulling her close. Victoria instantly melted into his hold, resting her head against his muscular chest, "Now all we can do is wait, and try not to make ourselves sick while doing it,"

"You're right," Victoria softly agreed, "Panicking won't do us any good,"

As much as Heather loathed to admit it, Kurt wasn't wrong, they had done all they could to help their missing friends and as long as this storm was raging, they were stuck. That being said, she was getting pretty sick of Kurt and Victoria playing kissy face, "I think I'm gonna just go to my room and take a shower or something," Heather muttered while getting up, "Call me if they show up," She said to the pair before looking over to Gavin, "You coming with, or sticking out here?" The brunette asked the geeky teen with an easy smile,

"Into your shower?" Gavin asked back, his eyes wide with shock,

Heather broke into a hearty laugh and reached down, taking Gavin's hand and pulling him up, "No, you dork, I just meant to our room." Heather explained as she led Gavin out of the living room and up the hallway to their bedroom, "You're real bold for a quiet guy, you know,"

"No, I think I just say stupid shit a lot," Gavin weakly joked back, feeling very much like the fool,

Kurt watched as Heather and Gavin slipped into their bedroom and as soon as the door shut, he slowly looked around the living room, smiling as he and Victoria were alone again at last. "Peace at last," Kurt sighed out while tightening his hold around Victoria,

Victoria hummed in approval, "I know, the hike and those few hours alone in the cabin together were nice today, you are an amazing guy, Kurt," The blonde girl wholeheartedly stated as Kurt began to run his hand up and down Victoria's arm,

"Me? Not at all, you're the amazing one," Kurt denied, "I never met someone like you before, just a pure, sweet girl without a mean bone in her body. I don't see how you don't have a boyfriend,"

"The only ones who ever really ask me out are assholes who just want one thing," Victoria grumbled back, "I'm not some slut, so they get all angry and toss me aside the minute I don't take my clothes off for them,"

"Fucking assholes," Kurt firmly stated, "If we were ever to -- Not saying that's what I'm thinking about, but if we were I'd never try to **** you into it. To me, that moment is something special and it can only ever work if everything goes naturally, and with the right person,"

Victoria sat up looking at Kurt with genuine surprise, "Wow, that's really...insightful Kurt," She said warmly, "I think that's exactly how it should be too, I'm not a prude or anything, but just jumping into bed with the first person to show interest doesn't sound right. I want to know who I give myself to,"

Kurt reached out and gently brushed Victoria's blonde hair over her ear and tilted his head, looking into her eyes keenly, "I want to know you, Vicky, I want to know everything about you," Victoria gave a small nervous gulp as the blonde teen slowly began to lean in, "And...if it feels right...giving ourselves to each other could be one the of the best moments in my life," Victoria began to let out a soft pant as their lips grew closer and closer, becoming only centimeters away.

"Where'd everyone go?" Chloe suddenly asked while entering the living room with two cups of hot cocoa,

Victoria jump back from Kurt who let himself fall back against the couch, letting out a sharp, extremely irritated exhale. Giving his face a quick rub with his head he thumbed up the hallway, "Heather and Gavin went to their room, and tough guys outside on the deck," He muttered out to the redhead,

"Oh, okay," Chloe shrugged back, not too concerned with Kurt's frustration.

As Chloe headed to the front door and slipped out onto the deck Kurt shook his head and looked back to Victoria, "Sorry if I sounded harsh there, it's just like we never seem to get privacy, know what I --" Kurt began to say only for Victoria to pounce forward, hungrily pressing her lips against Kurts, cupping the teen's face in both hands. Kurt smoothly pressed back against Victoria and wrapped an arm around her back, pulling her close to him while taking control of the kiss from the inexperienced blonde girl.

In the meantime, Chloe headed across the porch to Brandon's side, "How come you're out here?" She curiously asked the jock who sighed and shook his head, "What happened?"

"That dude, Kurt," Brandon muttered as he finally uncrossed his arms and sat himself up straight, "We're in there worried about our friends and he turns the fucking tv on, what a douche," Brandon replied while looking over to Chloe before raising his brow, "Coffee?"

"Cocoa" Chloe smiled back, handing a mug over to him, "I know it's not really cold out, but I always like a cup when it's storming out,"

Brandon couldn't help but smile as he reached out and took the mug from Chloe's hand, "Heh, thanks, appreciate it," Chloe nodded back and motioned to the couched, "Oh yeah, sure," Brandon nodded while scooting to one side, clearing a space for Chloe next to him. As Chloe sat down Brandon leaned back and began to silently sip on his cocoa which the redhead immediately began to follow along with. After a few minutes and half a cup, Brandon let out a sigh and looked over to Chloe, "I'm sorry I've been such a dickhead, I'm really not a bad guy, it's just...this struck me like a bus, and I doing my best to put the pieces back together,"

Chloe finished the gulp of cocoa in her mouth and gently shook her head, "I know you're not a bad guy, Brandon, we all know that. I also know that you loved Ashley, regardless of what happened between you two. So I'm not judging you for how you've been, I can't imagine what it's like to have a major relationship end so abruptly. And you can be mad at Ashley, Zack, yourself, whoever you need to be, as long as you are able to pull yourself out of it eventually and get back on the horse,"

Brandon let out a profound exhale, "I don't hate Ash or Zack at all, I don't blame either one of them for getting closer or whatever. It's just...when I see them together, it's like...that's my girlfriend, you know? It doesn't make sense, I know that but it's so hard to see Ashley as anything else and whenever I see her with Zack I just get so angry and jealous," Brandon hardly explained, "But even still, I'd give anything for them to walk out of those woods right now, just to know my friends are safe,"

"There, that right there," Chloe pointed out with a pleased smile, "That's how I know you're still a good guy. I know that doesn't mean when you see them together next you'll suddenly be okay with it, but the fact that you know that you're feeling irrational and genuinely care about them both tells me everything," Brandon let out a short, uncertain smile, "Hey, you're hurting right now, and hurt people don't always do the nicest stuff, but that's okay, you'll get better with time,"

"Thanks, Chloe," Brandon wholeheartedly replied, "It's nice to know I at least have one person on my side still,"

"No problem," Chloe cheerfully replied as she took another sip of cocoa, "Still got a feeling we're gonna be out here for a while though,"

"No doubt," Brandon nodded in agreement, "But, I'll be waiting for them as long as it takes, and I'd appreciate the company if you're up for it,"

"You're on, I pulled a lot of all-nighters with Gavin and Zack growing up, this is gonna be cake," Chloe confidently replied, kicking her feet up and resting them on the ottoman sitting in front of the pair.
