Chapter 41 by Vain Vain

Does either one of them get caught with what they're doing? What about Zack and Vicky? Or any of the others...?

Stepping a few minutes back in time

It actually wasn't just Brandon who'd managed to sneak up on the pair in the kitchen, as Chloe too had awakened to the sound of movements in the small cabin and eventually slipped out of her room.

First she'd just stayed in bed however, while memories of the past night flashed back through her mind, and for the briefest moment she'd even wondered if any of those memories could actually be real rather than just the creation of her own imaginative mind.

Then she'd noticed that Zack was already gone, and she found herself quite unreasonably cheated and disappointed of the lack of his company. She knew that she had herself to blame though, for giving him time to think instead of just following her own heart - which in turn was telling her to listen a little more to some other part of her body, that had a **** urge right now for having it's emptiness filled with her friend's tender love for her...

Just the thought of it made her browse all the erotic dreams from last night once more, and pick some of the best for having a replay session of what she'd been doing back then. Not having Zack in the same bed should have some minor advantages after all, as she could at least be moving around without fearing that he'd notice.

She was still rather sweaty, tired, and feeling like total mess however, which caused her to quickly start losing her interest in what she was doing. And upon hearing someone at the front door again she decided it was well about time to pull herself together and get out of bed already, before anyone started wondering why she was the last one up.

So she quietly made her way out of the room she was sharing with Zack and headed down the hallway towards the loo, when she suddenly caught sight of the two who were chatting all on their own in the kitchen. For but a moment it made her freeze in her tracks, and she felt like her heart had stopped while she stared enviously at the scene in front of her.

But then she noticed the hesitation on her best friend's face, which could just barely be seen from her current position, and she found herself taking another step closer to try and hear what they were saying.

"Well... yeah..." She heard Zack's voice swaying uncertainly while he was trying to answer some unknown question. "We've been friends for a long time though, and we used to have a lot of sleepovers when we were kids..."

It took her but a split second to realize they were actually talking about her, and again she found her heart skipping a beat while she pressed herself closer to the sturdy doorpost. Still she couldn't quite make out what Vicky was saying return, though she could see the smile on her lips and curious, gleaming green eyes. "...knew you'd always been close..."

And then there was a longer silence between them, while Zack was obviously struggling with some feelings, and his company looked even more certain about her reasoning for every moment that passed.

"Well..." She finally heard the blonde continue, followed by something else that she couldn't quite hear, before her voice ringed out a little bit clearer than before. "She's really hot you know!"

That one phrase made Chloe almost drop her jaw in surprise, and even more so as she could see the naked honesty in Victoria's face - even from a slight distance like this. It didn't make sense at all, and she couldn't know the full context, so all she could do was try and speculate in what was actually being said.

Just then she was suddenly brought back to reality though, as one of the other doors slowly opened, and she could see Brandon yawning and shuffling out in view like some primitive caveman right out of the stone age. For just the briefest moment she found herself wondering how Ashley could wake up right next to something like that for two whole years, but then she pushed all other thoughts aside as she leaped back into the safety of her own room. She was certain that neither Zack or Vicky could've seen her, and Bran looked way out of it to even notice if a cow had been standing in the middle of the hallway.

"What was that...?" She asked herself, as her heartbeat was finally slowing down to about just the double of it's normal speed - though she wasn't actually referring to the not-quite-so-handsome early morning features of their good friend Brandon.

Try as she might, she just couldn't quite figure what Vicky had been trying to get at with a comment like that, and she was left but with a handful of viable options.

"Was that the reason why Vicky wouldn't ever show such interest in Zack? Because she was actually more interested in his female best friend...?"

How to handle something like that? Or what about the others...?
