Spider-Girl: Clothestaking

PART ONE

Out on patrol one day, MJ spots a team of bank robbers who are drilling into an ATM with what appears to be a highly advanced laser. Confronting them, she realises too late that the laser is capable of disintegrating all forms of inorganic material, including the costumes of overconfident superheroines. While she defeats the robbers, she is **** to flee the scene before the press arrives.

With her webslingers gone, her mask dissolving, and her homemade costume peeling off her nubile brown body, MJ has to creep home across the rooftops of New York, hoping that nobody spots her. When she finally climbs in through her bedroom window, stark naked, she discovers that her friend Ned has come over to work on their science project, and is waiting for her.

The next day at the Midtown School of Engineering and Fun, a series of hi-tech pranks arouse MJ's suspicions. A gravity repulsor inverts the cheerleaders' skirts, a portable hole makes the wall of the girls' locker room disappear, and an X-ray lens makes Betty Brant's clothes invisible on camera. It's twenty minutes before she realises she's being broadcast to the whole school in the nude.

MJ's invited to a massive party at Flash Thompson's house, but reluctantly decides it's more important to track down the criminal who's selling illegal tech on the black market. She's about to break up a shady deal in a suburban park when a giant winged creature swoops down out of the sky and lifts her into the air. She manages to wriggle out of its grasp, but only by leaving her costume behind in its claws - and lands with a splash in the crowded pool at Flash's party.

Peter Parker arrives just a moment too late to see MJ flee into the street. Once again, she has to go home naked. This time, however, she doesn't know exactly where she's going, and after several minutes of sneaking across roads and blundering through backyards, she has to admit that she's lost. Fortunately, at that moment, Iron Man shows up.

He explains that he's been watching Spider-Girl's career with great interest, and thinks she's doing important work. He also explains that SHIELD is tracking a super-thief called the Vulture, whose MO is to swoop down on attractive women, strip them of their clothes and valuables, and leave them in compromising positions while they fly off. He says that he'd like to help Spider-Girl fight the Vulture, and offers to replace her homemade costume with a customised Stark suit.

He makes her stand naked in the middle of the road, under a streetlight, while he scans her from head to toe. He says it's for measurements. Then he tells her the suit will be ready once she gets back to her apartment, and flies off. MJ, stranded once more in a distant suburb without any clothes on, is finally **** to get the bus.
