Chapter 4 by Left Hand Man Left Hand Man

Well?

Special Branch Mechanics (WARNING SPOILERS)

This is a chapter for the special branch mechanics, especially ones that are spoilers. Most of these are fairly important.

Spawn points: In most of these stories, when the MC gets a minion, that minion doesn't respawn after being killed. To me, this seams fairly silly, especially considering the fact that some minions might be designed as cannon fodder (goblins, imps, ect). So in this branch I will be giving the MC the ability to create "Spawn points" for the minions, with separate ones for the champions and/or lieutenants. I'm figuring they will cost fame to set up, as that seams like it will make sense.

Title system: some RPGs have a title system where the player gets titles (like Expert Mage, Necromancer, Unkillable, One-Man Army, Squire, Apprentice, ect.). In some of those games, the titles actually boost stats or grant special abilities. I'm figuring on something similar for this game, only it applies to bosses too. Though likely with specific titles (Goblin Chieftain, Accursed One, Lich, brigand, ect.). There will likely be some overlap, but that makes it fun.

Absorbing a rival faction: in most branches of this story, it seames to be that all the members of that faction just become regular minions. However, in this branch, when a faction is absorbed, and that faction has a leader who also joins, that leader automatically becomes a lieutenant for their former faction. This is both logical and will provide an excellent story device.

Open crafting system: this is not my idea, and all credit goes to Wordsmith Rain over on Wattpad. They're a great author and have some very original ideas. Essentially, an open crafting system is a feature unique to a VR game, in that the players can design their own armor, weapons, ect. It's also player (and boss) driven, meaning that if a player hasn't come up with something, the NPCs won't sell it. This incentivises crafting classes, and offers unique ness at higher levels. This mechanic is somewhat implied in Master Skitzo's branch, with a player mentioning making one of the main antagonists an "obsidian greatsword".
