Chapter 4 by jaed jaed

What was the promise in question ?

Something related with the election.

( Chapter originally made by Nahdude in www.writing.com )

It all started in October of 2016, one month before the U.S. Presidential Election. Jenny didn't really have an interest in politics, but the rest of her family was split between the two candidates; her mother and older brother supported Clinton while her father and younger sister supported Trump. Luckily, there were never any heated arguments amongst the family, but there was plenty of banter. Despite her disinterest in politics, Jenny had heard about the polls predicting Trump losing by a landslide margin, and it seemed like every week there was some new controversy over some crazy thing the Republican candidate did or said. And though she figured that a lot of it was typical media sensationalism, she had no doubt in her mind that Clinton would emerge the winner because of this.

On the night of the last Presidential Debate, Jenny's more politically opinionated family members of course believed their candidate to have been the superior debater. Jenny only watched a few minutes of the debate, but it didn't change her prediction of the outcome. So when she saw her father post a on social media that said "Trump showed the people of this country that he is really capable of being its leader tonight. I think come election day, America will do what's right and MAGA!!!", she laughed. Did her father really believe that one boring debate changed the minds of millions of people? No way.

However, her father's post did give her an idea. Of course Trump will lose, so why not make some outrageous bets on the outcome to be funny? But what, though? She pondered for nearly half an hour in front of her computer some of the craziest things she could "promise" to do if Trump won, like eating her backpack or moving to Antarctica, but decided that those were so far-fetched that it would actually be less funny than something crazy yet still plausible. As funny as hyperbole can be, she believed that reality is much more entertaining than fiction. Back at the drawing board, she tried to think of something ridiculous she could "promise" to do if Trump wins that's crazy enough to get people's attention, yet realistic enough to make her seem bold enough to say it.

What is she gonna propose ?
