Chapter 6 by TheUnfathomable TheUnfathomable

What shall your name be?

Something fittingly fantastical.

Your discussion was surprisingly unfruitful. Ella was no help, only suggesting things that you were most certainly not going to have be your title for the rest of time. Stuff like "Skelly McSkellington", and "Master LizzySkell Skellatar the first". After a few more, you just decided to do your best to tune her out.

To your disappointment, Bea was no help either, as she seems to space out frequently. When you gestured questioningly, she says she is "On the forums", though she quickly gets mad at herself for saying this. You really do not understand adventurers. The only suggestion she made the whole time was "Lazzar, Scholar of the Sands", which wasn't bad, but still isn't the style you are going for.

In the end, it was up to you to come up with your name. You realize that this is probably the best-case scenario anyway, as you should pick your own name. Still, you hoped for a bit more assistance than this has turned out to be.

You lean back and drum your fingers on the top of your skull in thought. Should your name be based off of your undead nature, or your Lizardfolk nature? There wasn't a great way to combine the two, so you needed to pick one.

You go back and forth over them for a long time. In the end, you decide to go with an undead themed name. From the notification, this land you are claiming seemed to be a tomb, playing more into the undead theme. Plus, you are more of a skeleton first and lizardman second anyway, as you most certainly can't remember ever being a living lizardman.

With this in mind, you consider your potential choices. You can't go with something classic like Mort (translates to ****), you weren't any form of lich or higher undead like that, and you don't want some edgy name like the adventurers commonly have. It took a lot of mental back and forth, but you settled on one in the end.

You look it over quickly while already moving to select the confirm option. You ponder what it would look like after these resources were stockpiled. But then, something you read over clicks in place. Wait, did you just read the words 'Raid Dungeon'?

Your concern over this sudden development is not addressed, as quickly a great **** begins to blow around you. You and the two adventurers are **** out of the cave, landing in various locations and positions around the outside dunes.

You thrash about in frustration, furious as to the return of the dreaded sand in your joints. You sit up and look around, taking in any potential changes to your surroundings. From the outside, the cave doesn't look extremely different. You notice that the entrance was now clearly a crafted entryway instead of just a cave opening, however it was buried in sand regardless.

As you roll yourself up to stand, you see Ella fidgeting in her armor, clearly suffering from the same sand originating problem you were. Looking to Bea, you can tell her lighter leather and silk-based outfit prevented such problems. You can't help but envy her, not having to suffer the curse of the sandy joints would be something you would give a lot for.

You look back to the entrance of your newly claimed land, and slowly walk towards it. You have no idea what to expect from a claimed area, much less one that is apparently a Raid Dungeon. As you step into the doorway, a pop-up fills your vision.

Welcome Dungeon Owner
Below is a list of resources that can explain the mechanics of being a new Dungeon Boss:
Fame: What it is and how to spend it

Restoring the Great Tomb

You stare in confusion at all of the options for a moment before dismissing them. If they were important, you could look at it again later. Plus, most of those don't seem like immediate concerns, and right now you want to see what has become of your home.

As you step inside, you can immediately see a whole hoard of differences. The floor is now made of an intricate pattern of large blocks made of some form of stone. It is still mostly buried in sand, but you can tell the difference anyway. Instead of a cave, the area feels more like a large chamber, with most of its walls being buried in sand. The far wall being the worst case, you can't even tell how far away the actual wall is because of a huge barrier of sand that stands where the edge of the cave was before.

Much to your amazement, the mural was partially restored. It looked near new in condition, only minor damage and sand making it look anything but fresh. The biggest shocker though, was the wall across from it. The wall to the left of the entrance, was now also restored. Upon it, is a second mural.

This mural told a very different story from what you could see. The first depiction was of a group of white Lizardfolk, all of whom were cowering as the black Lizardfolk pointed them out to a group of soldiers. You ponder what it could be about, the rest being still covered by the sand.

You took your time pondering the murals as the two adventurers entered. Suddenly, a new notification arose.

A Unique Location has been claimed, checking data cache
World event data detected
Beginning world event.

You stared in horror at the notification. A world event? What sick bastard made a world event out of a level 5 skeleton? Your panic is only heightened as two more messages appear side by side.

The Resurrection of Katash
The ancient pharaoh will soon return, promising rewards for those who serve him and punishments for those who attempt to prevent his inevitable rule.
Monsters and Adventurers can build and destroy sites dedicated to Katash to assist or hinder his resurrection. They may also dedicate offerings to him at these sites, granting him more power in exchange for lending them his strength temporarily.
(This event has not yet begun. As the caretaker of the core location of this event, you have been informed of it in advance)

The Rebirth of Caluo
The wandering warrior seeks to bring justice and order to the world once more, offering his services to those who assist and his righteous judgement to those who oppose him.
Monsters and Adventurers can build and destroy sites dedicated to Caluo to assist or hinder his resurrection. They may also dedicate offerings to him at these sites, granting him more power in exchange for lending them his strength temporarily.
(This event has not yet begun. As the caretaker of the core location of this event, you have been informed of it in advance)

If you had a heart, it would have stopped. The only thing that prevents you from breaking down in panic is the last line of both messages. You manage to calm down thinking about it, however it is not lost on you that these events most certainly will occur, and it doesn't seem like it will tell you when.

At this point, you hear Bea speak up behind you, "You know, I am much more confident that there is lore here now." She walked up and traced her fingers over the mural with the black Lizardfolk. "This is rather intricate for something with a random skeleton being the only thing related to it."

Ella quickly to jumped onto her support of the theory, "I know right? No offense to Mr. Skelly, but I don't think he seems like enough for this place without some cool backstory of some sort."

You would clear your throat if you had one. How could they say such things when you were right here? Did they not care for your feelings?

One thing was sure now, however. Whatever was going on with this tomb, was now going to be very important to your continued survival.

I wonder if something bad will happen immediately...
