Small Talk

“I’m doing quite well, it’s been a long day! How have you been?”

You speak with an easy confidence, looking intently into her emerald green eyes. You watch as she looks down at your arms, small beads of sweat nesting along them. She quickly looks back up to your eyes.

“I’m doing really well actually, we are harvesting pumpkins for the first time and I just can’t believe how well they grow! Back home they would never even sprout.”
