Sister Dinner
Georgia shakes her head. “WOW, that is so sickly sweet that I almost want to throw up! No, that’s good though, I’m glad you’re happy and becoming stronger. What else happened?” She asks, prompting Mia to continue with her story. “Oh yeah okay. So I liked her vibes and thought she seemed interesting and nice, so when she invited me to train with her, I said yes.”
“We trained together for a few days and hung out. I got to know her better and decided that I really liked her. One morning a couple days after we met, Gemma got pulled into a trap barrier by a gang. Another woman got pulled in, a shadow mage by the name of Skylar. Gemma and Skylar worked together to fight off the gang, and Skylar came to eat lunch with us.”
“Gemma invited Skylar to train with us, and she accepted. She eventually became part of the guild that we formed, The Centurions. You’ll get to meet her later by the way.” “Wait, dad let you join a guild?” Mia sighs and rolls her eyes. “It took a lot of pushing, but yeah he did. The deal is that I can stay in the guild as long as I don’t participate in any fights. If I do, he’ll disown me.”
Georgia whistles. “I thought I’d get into a situation like that before you did. You’re still here though, so that means it hasn’t been too difficult so far.” Mia chuckles. “There have been a couple of close calls. Still, it’s been worth it. I love her company, as annoying as she is sometimes.” I poke my tongue out at her and she laughs.
“It took me a few more days to realise that I liked her as more than a friend. She almost died at one point and it made me realise just how much I cared about her. We talked quite a lot about it, although it was embarrassing and confusing. It did turn out though that we’re extremely compatible on all the important fronts. Neither of us want children, we both like polyamory, we want to be married sometime, all that stuff.”
“You talked about marriage and children after less than a week of knowing each other?” Georgia asks, raising an eyebrow. I snort and Mia giggles. “You know that meme about lesbians falling in love REALLY quickly? Yeah, it was that. Also my ADHD said there was no point in wasting time. I liked Gemma and I wanted to see if being with her would be worth it.”
She looks at me and smiles brightly, her eyes sparkling with her love for me. “And what do ya know, it is very much worth it to be with this doofus.” Cackling, I smile back at her. My heart soars with love for the aeromancer. Georgia smiles, her happiness at seeing the love between us apparent. “You two are adorable. Nauseating, but adorable.”
“Love ya too sis.” Georgia scoffs, but the smile on her face says more than words ever could. She’s really enjoying seeing her sister so happy and in love with somebody, and I feel incredibly privileged to be that person. “So Ivy, what about you? I’m guessing you’re an artificial spirit, with the whole Poison Ivy look and everything?”
She nods at that. “Gemma created me a few days after her and Mia got together.” “You seem super like, conscious. How did that happen?” “Gemma raised my mental stats pretty quickly. The higher my mental stats got, the more conscious I became. I had to spend a lot of time thinking about the world and researching things to understand more about life.”
“Even now, I know that there are a lot of things that I don’t understand. I don’t mind though, because I’m going to keep learning with experience. I’m happy with my life as it is so far, and I look forward to the future. I’m really happy with Gemma and Mia as my girlfriends.” Ivy smiles, and like each time she does, the genuine happiness that radiates from her expression, her body language and the sincerity of her voice is incredibly endearing. This woman doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘lie’.
Even Georgia can’t help but smile at her happiness. “That’s really good. How did you get together with them?” Ivy chuckles gently. “That’s an easy one. Gemma created me with the innate desire to love and protect her and Mia. Having questioned this a lot myself, I understand that Gemma did not create me with inherent romantic love for either of them.”
“The love that I was born with, was completely platonic. They desired a supportive person, and I became such. I am a healer after all. I became curious about what love truly is, and Gemma needed to raise my libido stat for me to fully understand the concept. Once she did, and once I was capable of feeling romantic and sexual love, it felt like the most natural thing in the world that I would feel it for both of them.”
“They showed me how to love. They shared with me all of their ideas for the future, all of their plans and goals, all of their values and things they desire that are deemed important for a loving and long lasting relationship. I share their values, goals and desires for the future. Things really just felt right with them. They make me happy and I make them happy.”
The purity and radiance of Ivy’s feelings is so beautiful that I can’t help but lean over and kiss her on the cheek. “I love you.” I tell her. She giggles at my actions, and I turn slightly red from the embarrassment of kissing her in front of Mia’s sister. “I love you too Gemma.” She brushes the hair aside from my face and chills go down my body. The effect that Ivy has on me is really something else.
“Oi, gimme a kiss too!” Mia demands, and Ivy obliges, laughing happily. “You three are so freaking cute!” Georgia exclaims, giggling at the sight of us. Mia and I blush while Ivy beams at her. “So one other thing I’m curious about. Ivy, you aren’t jealous at all of the other two?” She shakes her head and answers.
“I fail to see a reason why I should be. Gemma and Mia have both tried to explain the concept of monogamy to me, but I really don’t understand why people feel the need to limit themselves to one partner. How could I be jealous of either of them, when I have two beautiful, loving girlfriends? Two amazing people in my life, who I care for, and who care for me? Isn’t this just more love for everybody?”
Georgia looks a bit stunned at that answer and I laugh at the expression on her face. “Not everybody thinks that way love. A lot of mainstream society believes that multiple partners dilutes love between individuals.” “Mainstream society is wrong then.” Ivy states flat out, causing laughter around the whole table.
The rest of our dinner goes really smoothly, with Georgia warming up to us pretty quickly. In the same way, I can very much see that Georgia is somebody we can trust. We all help with the dishes after we’ve finished dinner and Georgia heads to bed, after making us promise that we would keep the noise down with any sex that we have. That sends Mia into a giggling fit and me into red faced embarrassment.
As we’re getting ready for bed (after several rounds of quieter sex than normal of course), Ivy asks me a question that interests me. “Are you going to tell Georgia that you’re transgender?” I consider the question for a few moments. “Maybe if it comes up in conversation. I don’t really see a need to though.” “Why’s that?” Ivy asks, and I know that she’s genuinely curious at this.
“I’m under no obligation to tell most people that I’m transgender. It’s really nobody else’s business but mine and my partners. I’m not interested in sleeping with Georgia, so there’s no reason to go ‘Hey I’m trans’, you know?” Ivy nods. “I can understand that.” “Wait, ya don’t want to sleep with my sister?” Mia chimes in. “Why do you sound surprised?” I ask in return.
“I dunno. It’s not like I want to, I feel like it’d be super awkward.” “I mean that’s partly why, I don’t wanna have that awkwardness. She is cute, but she just feels like a friend. There isn’t the same spark there, as there is with the two of you, if that makes sense. With her, I want to hang out with her a bit, maybe talk some shit. With you both, there’s a part of me that feels like every minute not spent cuddling you, kissing you, fucking you or telling you that I love you, is a minute wasted.”
“Aren’t you a sweetheart?” Mia giggles. Ivy walks over to me and plants a kiss on my lips. “I love you, my precious Gem.” She says gently, smirking as my face becomes red. I really hope that effect never stops. ‘Me too.’ Ivy sends back mentally, reading my thoughts. “Ya telling me that you don’t feel that way for Skylar? Cause I sure as hell do. That woman is adorable and I want to spend hours just holding her.” Mia comments.
“Look…” My tone and pause makes Mia cackle. “You saw the way she was looking at us today!” She keeps going. “I don’t wanna assume anything. If she keeps it up, maybe we can ask her about it. Just don’t push her, she’s already had a tough enough time opening up to us for a friendship. She’s probably going to be petrified, if she does feel that way.” I plead.
“Fiiiine. Can I at least hint to her that we’re interested? You’re interested in her too, right Ivy?” Mia asks. The artificial healer nods. “She’s adorable and I want to take care of her.” Mia gestures wildly at Ivy, with the ‘I told you so’ expression on her face. “See?” I sigh, smiling. “Alright fine. Just be careful.” “Hah, yes! I’ll be careful babe, don’t worry.” I kiss her. “I know. I love you.” “I love you too.”
