Chapter 32
by Bengates
Prompt: Jake is suddenly compelled by Fenrir (who speaks to him in a savage way directly into his mind and soul) to go and destroy the avatar that dared to survive the devastation spell. Fenrir should be portrayed as savage and selfish seeking destruction
Since Jake is supposedly ancient, I told the Ai to come up with a more ancient sounding name (which also started with "J") for Fenrir to call him by. I then had it re-write the prompt to make their conversation longer since it summarized everything and di
As the dust settles, Jake remains in place and stares down at the desolation, his eyes piercing earth and stone and flesh as he sees the remnant of the Avatar, still powerful but greatly weakened, buried deep beneath the earth. A voice from the moon calls to him in a fierce roar, pressing in on his soul, pushing him to go to the fallen Avatar of the Old Gods.
"Jarek the Betrayer," the voice of Fenrir growls in Jake's mind, "You dare defy me? You have used my power, now you owe me. Do as I command! Destroy the Avatar that dared to survive in my domain!"
"I am not your pawn, Fenrir," Jake responds, standing his ground against the savage god’s onslaught on his psyche. "I will not be used to do your bidding. This power is mine now, and I will decide how it is used."
"Bold words from one who knows not the full extent of my fury," Fenrir threatens. "I will see the Avatar destroyed, and any who dare stand in my way will fall before me."
But Jake is undeterred, and though he bars his mind against his one-time sire. ‘No,’ he breathes, hiding his thoughts, ‘I have better use for that power than you, father!’
"I will not be cowed by your threats, Fenrir," Jake declares allowed. "This power is mine, and I will use it to protect this world from threats like you."
With a snarl of rage, Fenrir's voice fades from Jake's mind, leaving him alone to ponder his next move. He knows he must tread carefully, for the power he now wields is dangerous and unpredictable. But he also knows that he cannot let it fall into the hands of a savage like Fenrir, who seeks only destruction and chaos.
((Author's note: Oh neat, so Fenrir is Jake's daddy (or equivalent) that's fun. Also the Ai completely made up the part about Jake wanting to take the old god's avatar's power for himself, so... we'll see where that goes))
Prompt: Write a flashback to ancient times in which Jake (then known as Jarek) Betrays Fenrir to the Moon Goddess
