Signs of life

"Ruuuu, Crukh, Crukh, Ruuuu, Crukh, Crukh," you hear, only half awake.

You begin to stir awake; you had been dreaming of food, french fries, pie, and more. It has been around six days since your last meal; while you have been gradually getting weaker. It seems this morning has hit you quite hard. You weakly begin to open your eyes; picking your equally as frail body up out of the chair. It takes a monumental amount of effort, but through sheer **** of will, you manage. However, the moment you pull up onto your feet, you feel your legs give out, and you begin falling towards the floor.

"There are signs of lifeforms nearby, Master," You hear Eve say, she has grabbed you before you hit the floor.

She gently guides you down towards the floor; you didn't hear her earlier; in fact, you didn't even notice her grab you. She kneels next to you, and with your head, in her lap, she gives you some water to drink. You greedy drink it down, having lost much water to the now hot and very humid air, you feel almost like you are in a sauna.

"Mistress Haruka seems to think we might be close to some land, Master," she says, while you **** on the water.

The name causes you to become alert, "Haruka, is she," you weakly ask while trying to get up; however, your body does not allow you.

"She is fine, Master," she explains.

You look towards the door, where Haruka is sitting head resting on the side of the capsule door, feet dangling into the water; she is wearing nothing. Haruka seems to be humming, watching the strange lifeforms. They seem to be bird-like; complete with wings. They are large, with huge wingspans and long legs and sharp talons and with toothy mouths. They remind you of a hybrid of a reptile and a bird.

You feel yourself become overcome by the heat, feeling yourself start to re-enter unconsciousness. You hope Haruka is right; you don't know how much longer you can be out here.
