Shenanigans

He felt his fingers grip around a colder than normal slip of paper. As he drew his hand back he felt every eye in the room upon him, especially Danyssa’s, who's eyes glinted with mischief, and as he unfolded it the room seemed to hold thier breath in anticipation.

"Danyssa Shiavereth." He read aloud, as the rest of the room groaned in frustration. "What-"

"Not here." So quiet, he almost couldn't catch it. "Thank you, Mr Penn!" She paused to pull his name out so that the draw could continue, turning to hide a grin from the disappointed crowd. "Let's see. Kira, lets have you draw next."

And on it went until everyone had a room parnter. By the end of the little ritual, pairings were as such:

Arthur the Human and Danyssa the Tiefling

Kira the Orcess was paired with Saris the Dark Elf Matriarch

Becksdale the Holstaur with Oz the Kobold

Cheryl the Lamia and Soks the Abyssal Eye

Gwenneth the Dark Elf Scion and Mata the Goblin

As the meeting concluded, everyone began filing out, stopping to shake hands with Oz or Saris, Arthur couldn’t help but wonder: what did Danyssa have planned?
