The retreat

"Everyone! We have an announcement."

Danyssa stood in the large conference room in front of the assembled staff. Her secretary floated behind her, eyestalks flitting from person to person, with one reserved wholly for Arthur standing by the door.

"First, we have a new face with us today, please welcome Oz Clawbrand."

Oz waved shyly before ducking back in their seat, as everyone gave a polite round of applause.

"Second, allow me to turn the floor over to our CEO, Mrs. Saris Violora."

More polite applause as Saris stepped forward, with Gwen standing behind her.

"Thank you, Ms. Shiavereth. Since there are so many new faces and since the department has done so consistently well thanks to all of your hard effort, we'll be taking a little trip. It's not mandatory of course, but next week Brightforge industries has decided to schedule an exclusive teambuilding event at a resort down the coast. Pack for five days and four nights, there will be swimming and evening entertainment. We've even hired private catering for the week."

Another, more enthusiastic, round of applause, as speculation about the resort and the amenities circulated.

"Now, we've rented five two room suites so you'll need to coordinate your rooming arrangements with Ms. Shiavereth."

Danyssa cut back in. "I have a feeling that doing anything but a random draw will lead to some hurt feelings, so I've taken the liberty of putting all your names in this basket."

She held up aforementioned basket and motioned for Arthur to come over. Holding it above his eye level(a feat to be sure) she continued.

"Mr. Penn if you would kindly."

Arthut shrugged

"Of course."

"Looks like I'll be bunking with-"
