She reveals herself

Nicole sighs. She agreed to the rules. Technically, she practically invented the rules. "I do this to myself," she says. Nicole looks around for her other neighbors. Determining the coast is clear, she steps out from behind the tree and down the path until she's face to face with Huck.

"Ohhh, heyyyy," she says as if she didn't see him coming.

"Where are you off to? Your calendar said you were available," he replied.

She plays dumb. "Did it? That can't be right. I know I scheduled a time out from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m."

Huck crosses his arms and shakes his head. "Bullshit."

"Okay, fine, I forgot to block off time, but I was really hoping to have some time to myself," she says.

"Time to yourself? I haven't seen you since Thursday. You've had lots of time to yourself. Unless you and Vincent hit it off better than I planned."

She didn't want to mention her date with Ana Marie and Alfie. "No, he left early yesterday. I just...had a long day at work yesterday."

He steps closer and places his big, meaty paw on her hip. "Well, you're mine, and I have needs. Rules are rules, right?"

That's when she sees one of her college girl neighbors pulling into the parking lot. She doesn't want to be seen out in public with Huck. It's terrible enough Ana Marie figured out something was up with him. Those girls were annoyingly judgmental.
