She met Lexi

She turned around to find Lexi. They had both entered the organization at around the same time, and had partnered on a few missions. They were friends, although at the same time there was an unspoken rivalry between them.

Unlike her, Lexi was dressed professionally, with a black blazer and trousers complimenting her light blue blouse. Lexi was shorter, curvier and less toned than her - and she felt that Lexi was strangely self-conscious about it. It reflected in her outfits always being very stuffy and conservative. Eva never understood why, for she knew there were many who would consider Lexi's body attractive - just not in the same way as her athletic and toned body.

She noticed that Lexi was looking her up and down. Was it jealousy, or admiration in her eyes? She coughed, as if telling "I know what you're doing" to Lexi.

"Right.", said Lexi, slightly red at being caught. "I wanted to go over the plan for the party." It was their next big mission.

"Can it wait until tomorrow?", she replied. "I have, uh, something that came up. An urgent mission, tonight."

Lexi raised an eyebrow. "Tonight? What do you mean?"

Eva bit her lip. She had maybe said a bit too much. "It's nothing. Actually, I'll see you later. I have to go meet Dave to go over the plans."

Lexi wasn't letting her go that easily. "Oh no you don't. If there's a secret mission, I wanna know about it. I'll come with you."

Eva sighed, regretting all of her choices that had led her to this point. And worse, she knew that now there was no getting rid of Lexi.

"Okay, follow me.", she said.
