Chapter 54

What does she do with the card?
She keeps it.
Staring at the card in her fingers, she slipped it into the pocket of her jeans. Making friends wasn’t her strong suit and he seemed sincere enough in his words. Besides that, she was still tingling from their little romp from before. Anyone who could give Kat a run for their money was someone worth keeping around, at least that’s what her post euphoric mind was thinking anyway.
Her cheeks are painted red as her mind replays the night on repeat during her walk home, Eliza only snapping out of it when she made it to her front door. She is greeted by an empty apartment, which was a relief, she didn’t want to have to explain where she was or more importantly, who she was with. At this point she simply didn’t have the energy to deal with an over invasive Kat. With heavy movements she flopped down onto her bed, her body sore from using so much aura…amongst other things. It didn’t take long for sleep to overtake her consciousness, drifting off within minutes of arriving home.
Eliza woke with a grown, the soreness from the night before only multiplied while she slept. Her muscles ached like a post-workout soreness, the pain being even more concentrated around her hip area. The thought of having to walk to school with her body like this wasn’t very appealing, but it wasn’t like she had much of a choice.
The apartment was still as empty as when she went to bed, proving her earlier assumption to be true. It was nice to have a quiet morning every once in a while, even though her little interaction with Kat were growing on her. She’s not a bad roommate all things considered, barring her lack of privacy, her attacking her friends, her tendency to bring home random strangers…wasn’t she saying Kat was a good roommate?
Eliza absentmindedly went through her morning rituals and headed out the door without much to talk about. Halfway down the stairwell she caught a glimpse of Chloe walking past her apartment complex, which urged Eliza to quicken her pace.
“Chloe, wait up!” Eliza yelled just loud enough for her to hear. The black haired girl spun her head around, waving daintily as Eliza approached. She was dressed in a similar pleasing fashion as the last time Eliza laid eyes on her. A low crop top that accentuated her assets, giving out just the right amount of cleavage.
“At the boyfriend’s again?” Chloe didn’t answer in a verbal way, the the lowering of her gaze and the slight blush on her cheeks betrayed the true answer.
“Well, how ‘bout you? you look extra radiant today, don’t ‘cha think?” Eliza was slightly confused by her remark, as she felt no different than normal. That was until she looked down. She was wearing a rather tight, sleeveless shirt that was short enough to expose a small midriff. Bits of her bra could be seen, suggestive red frills peeking out behind the fabric as she moved. Eliza didn’t even realize she put the ensemble on to be honest, never crossing her mind as she prepared for school. She usually dressed rather modestly, not wanting to garner any unnecessary attention, so this style was really unusual for her. “Did you finally find that boy maybe?” Chloe added. A redness appeared on Eliza’s cheeks at the assinuation, not liking the conversation to be turned back onto her.
“No, I just…felt pretty today.” Eliza bullshitted, failing miserably. Chloe raised an eyebrow in doubt, but luckily for her, didn’t push the obvious lie any further.
“Oh yeah, almost forgot. You have the notes from last session?” Chloe said, spinning the conversation on its head.
“Oh, um, yeah sure. I’ll get them for you once we arrive.”
“Thank you!” She said in an all too happy tone. Eliza thought that was the end of it, though she was taken by surprise when Chloe lurched at her in a big hug, Eliza barely managing to not fall over. Clasping her arm around Eliza’s body, she squeezed rather tightly while lifting her arms, burrowing her arms under her bust. The gesture only lasted a moment before Chloe released her, Eliza once again almost falling over by her sudden movements.
“Y-your welcome.” Eliza said, doing her best to act natural with the whole situation. She wasn’t really used to touching people, especially in public. Plus in recent days, any sort of touch she did have was overtly sexual in nature, making it even more awkward for her to be hugged by her in broad daylight. Normally, she would go out of her way to avoid such interaction, breaking away almost instantly. Now though, that’s changed. She quite enjoyed that, partially sad at its short length.
The two made it to class without further incident, sitting down next to each other as per the new usual. Eliza gave out her notes and watched Chloe quickly scribble them down. She couldn’t help but wonder why she was absent last class. The question was on her mind before, but the sudden hug attack scrambled her brain into forgetting about it. Maybe she would ask after class.
“Hey, you doing anything after class?” Chloe asked, packing her books away in her pack.
“I have a class in an hour or so, but other than that, no.”
“Perfect, let’s go grab a coffee.” There was a slight nervousness to her voice, though there was no hesitation in her movements, latching their elbows together as she pulled Eliza from the desk. Eliza is sprung to her feet, quickly being carried away by the small black haired girl. The way Chloe was acting was all too strange, there was obviously something on her mind but without any idea of what that could be, Eliza was **** to trot along with the girl. The entire way to the shop they had their elbows linked, almost looking like a couple as she was almost dragged by Chloe’s hurried pace.
“Calm down Chloe, what’s the rush?” Eliza asked, picking up the pace to walk beside her.
“Nothing I just…want to make sure we have enough time.” It was painfully obvious she was hiding something, but there wasn’t any use probing her now. Eliza would just wait for them to sit down.
With a frappuccino and latte in hand, the two women sit down in a secluded corner of the coffee shop. Chloe was now visibly nervous, fidgeting with the edge of the lid as the two girls sat in silence. Eliza, over taken by curiosity, was the first to speak.
“So, what did you want to talk to me about?” Chloe’s head shot up from staring at her drink, her inner thoughts being interrupted by the sudden question.
“Oh, nothing…I just thought we should get to know each other, yeah.” Eliza, not letting her B.S. her way out of another question, gave her a suspicious glare. It did the trick, as Chloe took a heavy breath and sighed. “Ok fine, yes, I needed to talk to you about something. I’m just…not exactly sure I’m ready for the answer.” Those were not the words she was expecting to hear. Her curiosity now peaked, Eliza quickly urged her on.
"Well, shoot, I'm all ears."
What does Chloe want to talk about?
