She finds Spider-Man

The next morning, Ardour once again returned to her classic catsuit and swung into the city to look for Spider-Man. Hopefully, he'd be more open to being with her, now that it had been another day, and hopefully he hadn't found the small bit of symbiote she'd left with him to help with that. It didn't take too long before she found him, sitting on a roof, near to the hospital MJ was in.

"Hey Spider." Cat stated, as she landed on the roof and started strutting over to him, "How are you feeling today?"

"Morning Cat." He replied, turning to face her, "Better, I guess."

Cat dropped to the ground beside him, sitting on the roof. He turned back to face the hospital; she could tell he was looking towards MJ's room.

"I don't know what to do. A part of me wonders whether she'll ever get better. I still love her so much and want to be with her more than anything, but I also want her to be happy, and if I keep making her scared, maybe she'd be better off without me?" He explained. Perfect, he was already starting to think about moving on from her.

"Well, not much I can do to help with that. And look, I don't know her, or how bad her condition is, anywhere near as well as you, so take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt, but if you're really that concerned for her happiness, then maybe it might do you both some good." She suggested. Spider-Man turned to face her.

"What do you mean?"

"Just that, if she's as scared of you as you suggest, then maybe without you she'll recover faster. And I can see how upset this whole ordeal is making you, so maybe leaving her be, at least for a time, might help cheer you up too."

"Maybe." He stated, looking back over at the hospital, towards MJ's window. Then, he slammed his fist into the roof, "Why does the universe hate me?"

"Well, I wouldn't know about that, personally I don't believe in that stuff. But, you like your powers don't you? You like being Spider-Man? The webhead, wallcrawler and bane of J. Jonah Jameson's existence, right?"

"I suppose you're right." He laughed.

"Then, the universe can't hate you too much, now can it?" Cat stated, giving him a playful punch in the arm.

"I guess not."

"Good, so no more of that self-pity talk, okay?"

"Yes, Ma'am." He joked, looking back over to her and saluting, "Thank you, again. I don't know what I'd do without you; you've been there for me, since the start of this whole ordeal."

"Aww, it's nothing, really. I just want to make sure you're okay, that's all."

"I will be once Sierra's caught. I'm still so mad she got away."

"Yeah, the police in this city aren't the best." Cat said with a smile as she lay backwards, lounging on the ground. He looked over at her.

"Yeah, well, I hope they catch her before I do, for both our sakes. While she's out there, I don't think I can risk leaving her." He stated angrily, Cat sat up at the last part. Shit. She didn't want to betray Sierra, she was starting to like her too much, but she was the current reason he wouldn't be with her. Then again, he might've had another excuse if she hadn't freed her.

"I get that you want to keep her safe, but you're not here all the time anyway. Yesterday, you stopped a bank heist, fought me, and then delt with whatever happened at lunch, plus possibly a dozen other things. If Sierra still wanted her, she'd already had her chances, and she'll have many more. If she does get taken again, which I doubt, then it won't happen when you're here to stop it, so why does it matter that you sit here all day? Snap out of it, live your life."

"Damn, I never knew you could be so persuasive." He stated, getting up. He offered Cat his hand, which she took, and he pulled her to her feet.

"Yeah, well, I have my moments. And if anyone knows about living life to the fullest, it's me, and I don't want to see you to wasting yours."

"Okay then, if you know so much about living life, what should I do now?"

"Follow me."
