Anything else happen around Mina this evening?
She Investigates Ochako's Room
Mina juggled all of the questions in her mind, sorting out her theories.
It was more than clear what was going on, by now, but that still left so many questions. Who would have the power to change all of reality? A quirk that powerful would surely be known and, since it seemed to be concentrated on the girls of 1A, it wasn't a poor assumption that it was a U.A. student or, worse, a faculty member.
Had U.A. hired any new pervy janitors recently? Mina pondered, as she awkwardly shuffled her way back through the corridors of the dorm halls from her room.
Once she had already searched her room and found nothing more than the two notes (two awesome notes, at least), there was nothing further to help her solve this mystery.
The second question Mina had, of course; what were up with the notes? Were they just calling cards left behind to rub their new reality in their faces (Well, her face, to be more specific), or were they fundamentally tied to the changes? Perhaps the quirk user needed to write down the changes on notes for them to activate. If that were the case, Mina may be stashing under her pillow the answer on how to solve all this.
Maybe, if she were to destroy the notes, it would reverse the quirk's effects and put things back to normal. At least in regards to the notes' contents.
Despite how good the hunch was, Mina's face soured at the thought. Not about having a way to reverse the effects; that was great news! However, all the notes she has received so far have been... well, GREAT. A bit weird, but she saw the merit in them. Returning those to normal would be a horrible waste. She fumed, tallying all of the horrible alterations she would get rid off happily (one of which was hanging right off her face, right now) and yet the only ones she's found, so far, have been all the good ones.
Maybe she'll just need to find the other notes and destroy them bit-by-bit.
Mina grimaced, knowing that this pervert had probably intended for this. He likely left those notes, wanting her to search high and low for each one, like a damned Easter egg hunt. She could thank him for letting her keep her awareness, but she hated this power game of his.
Be that as it may, Mina was not a quitter. She was not going to let this frightening and confusing day defeat her.
If there was nothing more to be found in her room, then maybe she should begin searching through the rest of the rooms.
As Mina found Uraraka's room, her face broke into an apologetic grin as the handle went down and the door opened so effortlessly. She knew Ochako might not like her breaching her privacy to snoop around, but she couldn't help but marvel. The doors to the girls' rooms not having locks was just soooo~ convenient. How had she not seen how cool it was to let literally anyone have access to your room before now? If nothing else, it was going to make investigating far more efficient now.
Passing the threshold, Mina turned on Ochako's lights, revealing her room to her. She could recall their room tour a while back. Ochako's room had been pretty ordinary, especially in comparison to their more outrageous and eccentric classmates, herself included. What met Mina's eyes this time was a little different.
To begin with, the bed seemed to be slightly larger than before. It was subtle, if you weren't paying attention, but it was indeed wider. Almost wide enough to fit two people. Three, if one of you were small enough. The small desk that she had was now littered with little cat toys, like a fake mouse and a few feathers on a string. On top of that, the walls that had been kept clear before now where now plastered with posters. Some of which were cute cat posters and others that featured cartoon cat girls.
Mina's snout curled in pathos on behalf of her unaware friend. There was nothing funny about this. She knew people who had cat mutation quirks for real (well, y'know, the 'old' real) and they would find this sort of stuff insulting.
She still had to focus, before the dinner bell rang and she would lose herself to her food brain again.
It barely took her a second to find another note. It was practically asking to be found, because it was right on Ochako's desk, with what looked to be a large pen weighing it down. She picked up the object and, on closer inspection, Mina realised that it was not a pen but a laser pointer.
Of course, she thought, rolling her eyes, before opening the note up to read, hoping it would be worthy enough to destroy.
Ochako Uraraka loves to chase after laser pointer dots. It provides her with ample exercise and relieves stress. She doesn't understand how laser pointers work and believes she will eventually catch a dot, if she tries hard enough, which her classmates find really endearing but also really funny.
Mina stared at the note in her left hand and then to the device in her right.
Meanwhile, three stories down, the other girls were laying the table for a joint dinner together. This wasn't a regular occurrence, but they just... felt they wanted to do it tonight for whatever reason. Besides, it wasn't like they were cooking for more than six.
"Where are the guys, anyway? Classes ended hours ago; it's nearly nighttime," said Ochako, ears low in worry for her beloved classmates.
Noting Ochako's worries, Momo was quick to answer, "Don't panic, Uraraka. Todoroki actually sent me a text. They all decided they wanted to study up some more, so they're pulling an all-nighter at the library reading up all the textbooks the school has."
"The school allows that?" asked Jiro, picking up her phone from the table to send a message to Kaminari, asking for confirmation.
"Not usually but I guess today was an exception."
"Well, that's a relief," said Toru, her invisible body nowhere to be seen, "With no guys around, we don't have to worry about covering up."
"A bit rich coming from you, Toru," said Tsuyu, who was occupying herself with adjusting her breasts, so they wouldn't press into the table. Eventually, she just dunked the melons onto the counter and left them be.
Ochako giggled at the sight.
"I kind of like them that size, Tsu~nya. You sure you don't want to keep them like that."
Tsuyu didn't seem offended nor agitated by the comment, but answered honestly: "If I did, I'd have to get a whole new set of bikinis for them. There's a reason I switched to string bikinis. You remember how many bikini tops I went through at the start of the year."
Ochako tittered, saying "Yeah," before she spotted something in her periphery. After a moment, her ears twitched and she assumed it was her imagination, before she spotted it again, on the other side.
Her head perked up and her eyes scanned the room but she couldn't see anything. Right when she was about to give up again, she saw a flash of red speed across the wall from right to left, causing her neck to spin.
"Ochako, what is it?" asked Tsuyu, recognizing Ochako's change in attitude.
"It's back..." was all the cat girl said, having lost sight of it and reevaluating the whole room.
"What?" asked Toru.
Ochako didn't answer immediately, as left her chair to investigate the underside of the table. During this time, all the girl's noticed a little bright red dot appear on the countertop where Ochako had been sitting.
"The thing that I've been chasing all year that you girls keep telling me doesn't exist."
Once she lifted her head back from under the table, her eyes eventually spotted the object of her curiosity right next to her.
"THERE!!!" Ochako cheered, as her hunting instincts took hold and she slammed her hand right at the dot, which dodged her effortlessly, but the **** of her attack had knocked over some glasses.
"Oh, you're so quick," she said to the dot, which danced around in a circle, which Ochako had learnt to interpret as a taunt, "Don't get cocky, whatever you are. I only need to get you once and you'll be mine."
With no more words but a triumphant mew, Ochako launched herself onto the table and relentlessly pawed at the dot, as it zigzagged down the table, lengthways.
"Uraraka," cried Momo, "We just finished laying the table."
"Sorry, Yao Momo. I don't pick the battleground," she retorted.
The dot raced from the table onto the floor and Ochako hastily followed after it, chasing after her prey all around the furniture like a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
The rest of the girls heard chortling from the staircase, before the culprit broke into an all out laughing fit (which also included a lot of piggy snorts).
Emerging from her hiding place was a very buzzed Mina Ashido. In her hand was a laser pointer, which was still keeping busy pointing it quasi-randomly around the living room.
"Mina, right now?" asked Momo, like a concerned mother, "You couldn't have waited until after we ate? She's not going to stop looking out for it for the rest of the evening now."
This only amused Mina more, "Sorry, I just couldn't resist trying it out... I mean, trying it out again. It's just so funny to see how into it she gets. I mean, look at her go!"
At that, Mina sent the dot up the wall and Ochako took to one of the curtains and impressively scaled them to be level with the dot once more, before she tried reaching for it once more.
As funny as all the girls found the sight, they also couldn't help but feel a deep admiration for her dedication. Even Mina was feeling it: a strong sense of fondness for Ochako. She was so driven and silly at the same time. That's so admirable, she thought. She realised that this may be an effect of the note playing with her (finding something 'endearing' could mean many things, after all), but it almost made it all the better.
The note remained under her pillow, along with the others. How could it not have been? When Mina first saw it, she realised it was another keeper. Fortunately or unfortunately.
Mina did not like Ochako being a cat mutant against her will. That being said, if Ochako loved chasing laser pointers now, then Mina loved that for her. It was just harmless fun, after all, and now Ochako can get an outlet for her stress and pent-up energy. To be honest, Mina was feeling a little jealous, but she also knew that this would provide not just a service for Ochako but for the rest of the class, too. Already, Mina felt great playing around with Ochako. It would be great to do this all the time. This one HAD to say. Everyone has to play once in a while.
"Well, Mina, if you're quite done," Momo said, getting the pig girl's attention, "Dinner's about to be ready soon, so maybe you should put that away and help was re-lay the table."
Dinner? Mina forgot all about that. She had wanted to search for more notes, while she still could, but now all of her concerns were being rapidly superseded by the idea of food once more.
"Okay, I'll help. Sure," she said, turning off the laser pointer and placing it on a nearby chair for later, much to Ochako's confusion.
"Huh? Where'd it go? It was just here. It must have escaped. UGH! That thing is so darn quick! I almost had it, too."
"Sure you did, Ochako," Mina giggled, before she went right back to fixing the table, impatiently waiting for the food to be dished out and served.
In minutes, dinner was ready. Mina's mind clouded over in anticipation, as her mouth drooled uncaringly.
Right at that moment, the main doors swung open and the girls were quick to cover their private parts with their hands before anyone could see them, except for Mina who was still in a hunger fugue, her mind only just detecting the cold evening air draping around her body and causing her nipples to reflectively harden.
In walked none other than Mineta, who had conveniently decided that an all-night sausage party at the school library didn't quite agree with him. (It did give him some ample time to write some more entries without suspicion, however.) He'd rather spend the evening with his lovely ladies.
"Room for one more?" he asked, ever so innocently.
How does the rest of the evening go? What happens to Mina? What does Mineta plan? What new changes have been made?
