Chapter 66 by SophiePert SophiePert

What's next?

She Has His Number

Or maybe even what did you already get.

That's the real question, right? That's the first one she wants to have answered. What happened here between us? How far did we go?

Because surely, by this point, she has to know.

"Rent," Lucas laughs, "I get rent out of her, or out of her parents anyways. Because I'm her landlord."

"Sure," Rachel laughs right back, "You're just an innocent landlord. Just a good man without any intentions whatsoever. Without any plans at all."

Lucas can be so very charming when he wants to be, and he wants to be right now. He smiles broad and handsome and almost seems to gain a half a foot in height, putting on his folksy country charm and giving her an aw shucks look and a shrug.

"Well you've got me dead to rights on that," he says, "First good characterization. First accurate representation. I'm just a good man here without any intentions at all. Because I am far too old to play games and you girls are far too young to play with."

A twinkle in his eyes seals the lie as just that, a lie. A smile on his lips that turns a little wicked at the edges of it and a slight lean forward in his posture as he looks down on her, as he stays down at her with a little measure of the hunger he feels.

"But that's the appeal, isn't it?" she asks, "Youth is wasted on the young so the old can mainline a little bit of it if they get it just right."

"Don't do ****," he starts, but she cuts him off with a question.

"Are you married?"

He shakes his head slowly, no.

"Then you want to fuck us," she says, matter of fact and so blunt that I back up against the wall as he barks out a laugh.

"Is that so?" he says, "So confident."

She shrugs, "So certain. And I should be. And you know why? I'll tell you because it's really so obvious you ought to know it. You're a guy and we're two hot young co-ed girls. We are freshly showered and so very innocent and so very eager to please. And you are a man with experience. You can set us right. You can show us what we're missing. What a real man can do."

Her voice went husky at the end and meanwhile I was shocked a little at how well she summarized his argument. It was nearly word for word what he'd said to me only last night. Nearly in this same place and almost entirely in this same condition.

"You think highly of yourself," he replies, his voice warning her a little.

She shakes her head, no, "I think just as highly as I ought to. I have just as much confidence as is warranted. I know who I am, who she is, and who you are. I know what you'd do if you thought that you had the chance. Just how far you'd go. Just how little you'd hold back."

The last remnants of his smile fades as Lucas narrows his eyes to look at her. He picks his words closely, trying to determine whether she is a threat or an opportunity.

"You are too young to have such confidence."

"And I am too right to be wrong," she replies.

Lucas takes half a step back, "You're coming at this a little hard there, young miss. I have half a mind to ask whether I ought to be declining to answer any more questions without a lawyer present."

"Oh well now you must be mistaking my intentions here," she replies.

"How's that?" he asks.

She smiles, "You're assuming something. You're assuming that any of this is a bad thing."

"And?" he drawls out.

"And you're assuming," she finishes with a smile, "That any of your attention is unwanted."
