Chapter 8 by quillbot quillbot

What would you like to play?

Shall We Play a Game?

All twenty-two guests, along with their two hosts, sat in a wide circle in the great room of Ravers Cabin. Most sat cross-legged, while the girls with tight dresses stretched their legs out. No matter what way they sat, the number of people present caused them to be squeezed in next to each other. That led a few individuals to glance around nervously.

"This isn't great social distancing," Winkie commented.

"No complaining!" snapped a frustrated Heather. "What did you expect, coming to a party?"

"I think Will has a point," Ashley said, smiling at her boyfriend's teammate. "It might be a safer idea to split into two circles."

"Nope, not happening," Heather sternly shook her head.

"Having two groups wouldn't be as fun," Logan agreed with his cousin.

"What should we play?" Hannah eagerly questioned, surveying the circle for suggestions.

"Are we seriously going to play little kid games?" Lindsey questioned condescendingly. "This is such a waste of time."

"I don't know what your life is like, but the games I play aren't for kids," Teresa sneered. "And considering the rumors about parties that Robert Ravers throws here, I doubt his family is going to recommend Duck, Duck, Goose."

"C'mon, Teresa, you know Duck, Duck, Goose can get pretty hot," Hannah pointed out to her rival.

"True," Teresa shrugged.

"How about we use this for any game?" Heather suggested, pulling out a large, empty wine bottle.

"Truth or Dare?" Delilah threw out. Madison, who sat next to her, turned and glared at her friend for the idea.

"Why not? The truth can be enlightening," Meagan ominously stated.

"Truth or dare IS for kids," Matt declared.

"How about kisses or clothes?" Sharon proposed, peeking over at Logan. Heather caught the look and didn't like it.

"Absolutely not!" Brandon roared, sitting up straight after he'd been leaning back on his elbows. His eyes shot over at his twin sister.

"I say we do it," Rebecca stated,

"Me too," Karen agreed.

"No!" Charlie exclaimed, earning dirty looks from his sisters. He shot another glance at Brandon, motioning with his hand. "I agree with Brandon. Let's not get too crazy, too fast."

"That's a sound idea," Carl spoke up, earning glares from his sister and his good friend. Matt even added a punch to his shoulder.

"What's the matter, buddy? You're going to see your little sister naked at some point. I'll guarantee that," Matt promised, leering at Sharon. He noticed the hard look that Logan shot him and returned it.

"Asshole," muttered Sharon.

"Any other suggestions?" Heather inquired, raising her hand to her sides.

"A **** mystery!" Poet excitedly proposed stretching her arm in the air like an eager student.

"I'm not playing Sherlock Holmes," sneered Teresa.

Hannah, Bianca, Yelena, and the Harrington twins all supported her opinion in some form.

"Great idea, kook," Sharon remarked, shaking her head in disbelief. "We're here to have fun, not think."

"It's not a bad idea," Kessler said, seeing the hurt look on Poet's face.

"Sounds better than this other crap," Lindsey commented.

"It's a cool idea," Ashley complimented. "But maybe not for this crowd." The little blonde's frown at her **** Hannah to relent.

"A **** mystery could be fun. I'm sure some of the people who didn't show up here would be more interested in playing it."

"Yeah, maybe we can play that during our family quarantine," Winkie suggested to his cousin.

"Better have a doctor on standby," Sharon mumbled under her breath.

"Be nice," Logan mouthed across to the redhead. "Don't ruin our fun."

"How about High Card?" Tiara offered.

"Not with this many people," Trent responded to his sister.

"That's why we should split into two groups," Bianca moaned.

"That's what Ashley suggested," Yelena whispered to her.

"Forget that! I changed my mind," Bianca announced.

"No, we should," her older sister remarked. "We can play better games with two groups of twelve. I'd say my group should play Dirty Naked Poker."

"Great idea!" Rebecca called out.

Hannah fidgeted as she wanted to agree but couldn't. Not with her archrival in Teresa Zuccaro.

"I'm down," Logan stated, rubbing his hands together.

"No!" Heather and Charlie both exclaimed, causing them to examine each other suspiciously.

"Yes, let's keep it to one group for now," Meagan said.

"Agreed," Heather stated as if the debate had ended. "We'll play Truth or Dare first."

Moans, groans, and agreement filled the room.

"I have spoken," Heather asserted, causing Ashley to giggle. "What?"

"Nothing," Ashley responded, continuing to giggle. "You just sounded like a queen in a bad movie."

"Truth and Dare can be fun," Hannah remarked, showing support for Heather.

"Fine," sighed Teresa. "But, everyone can't keep on choosing Truth."

"Agreed. Each person only gets to choose Truth once in the game," Heather revealed the rule. "Any other suggestions?"

"Can we dare someone to do a Dare to another person?" Trent asked, earning eager nods for Matt and Sharon.

"That will be allowed," Heather proclaimed. Rising up from the floor, the party hostess moved to the center of the circle and placed the empty wine bottle down.

"Who's going to go first?" Kevin asked, finally speaking up.

"I say my cousin. She's already standing there," Logan said.

Murmurs of agreement filled the room.

Nodding her thanks, Heather delicately leaned over in her tight, short dress, and spun the bottle. She watched with anticipation as it slowed, revealing her first contestant.

"What a wonderful stroke of luck," the brunette remarked, eyes gleaming in delight.

Heather's choice of a game has expanded more than I originally planned. While I'm not sure if anyone will ever have any interest, I'm going to break down the game into smaller parts to allow different branch options. I'll do that approximately every fourth turn, and try to set up a fun person to be in charge at a break. So, feel free to add your own.

Who did Heather get?
